My baby loves Masters of the Universe!!

As some of you all may know, I'm what you might call a casual MOTU fan. I had a handful of figures as a kid back in the day, and I watched a few episodes of the cartoon. I do have a small Classics collection, some modern comics, and a few DVDs. That's where my little girl comes in. She's now four years old, and she's been increasingly aware of the stuff I like and collect, and she's now taken an interest in my DVD collection. So the other day she grabs one of my old Filmation MOTU DVDs, and asks if she can watch it. She's all into wizards and castles and magical powers and what-not, so I agreed. I was curious to see what she thought of it.

The child absolutely adores it. She loves He-Man, and of course she's all about Cringer/Battle Cat because she loves cats...she's just completely enamored by it all. And it's been alot of fun to watch those old corny episodes through her eyes. I even gave her one of my extra MOTU Classics Orko/Prince Adam two-packs to play with, and she loves them. I myself was even impressed with the quality of these figures...the only other one I'd ever opened was the Classics Icarus, and it was pretty nice, but these two figures are wonderful. I just don't understand the extra head; it looks exactly like the one he has on in the package. (lol)

I just thought you guys would find the fact that I may be raising a new MOTU fan funny. I may not know everything there is to know about the mythos and the toys, but I'll do my best to represent it properly. (lol)

While my nieces are never visit long enough to enjoy my video library, I did buy my niece a She-ra video from big lots....she loved it as well, she also spotted my Swiftwind that I bought from the glorious Darkened Friday sale from Mattycollector a few years back...you know...the one Flash Sale that didn't suck.......she wants ole Swifty in the meantime I did buy her a She-ra & a Cat-ra for her to battle....she liked them as well....its always brings a warm feeling when our lil Jedis enjoy our toys from back in the day when having an imagination & some plastic toy goodness were all we needed to keep us busy.....my GF's grandson was into the GI Joe Cartoon for along time.....I'm glad you got to share the goodness w/your daughter DB.

Thanks GD!

This whole experience has really made a huge fan out of me, and I've learned so much about the mythology by watching the show with my little girl. We're both enjoying it so much, and it's not quite as goofy and corny as I initially thought...well, sometimes it is. (lol) But it's still very entertaining to watch. And maybe it's the daddy in me, but I really like the character lessons and morals the episodes teach; I really think this show is more kid friendly than even G.I Joe and Transformers were...those were the "gold standard" shows I always held everything up to. This show is just wonderful, and I feel like I've really missed-out all these years. It's been so much fun truly discovering this show and universe for what feels like the very first time. Now my little girl and I are soaking-up every episode we can and are having fun looking at all the toys online together.

Oh, and speaking of learning new things, I'm having a lot of fun learning who some of the characters are that have been released in the Classics line that I've been unfamiliar with. For example, I LOVE Granamyr! He's like a combination between Gandalf and Smaug, and he's such a classic character, no pun intended. I had absolutely no clue who he was when the Classics figure came out, but now that I know who he is from the show and love him, I can't afford him. (lol)
