Mattel Retains DC Comics Master Toy License For Another 3-5 Years

I wonder if they will take this opportunity to do more DCUC style stuff? Or maybe continue exclusively with the kiddie stuff? Or maybe just sit on it the way Hasbro is doing with the Star Trek licence?

I agree they have done some cool stuff over the years but if it means more videos of Scott lying about how 6" superhero figures don't sell at retail and that the only alternative is outrageously priced exclusives that keep going up and up in price, I think I'd rather have nothing.

But for me it almost doesn't matter because I pretty much have all the classics DC characters I need. Nothing they choose to do will get me too bent out of shape. And if nothing else, it keeps my hope for Reeve and Keaton Movie Masters alive.

Good news for me, if for no other reason than I wanna see if Total Heroes can really go the distance.

I just don't see it happening. Not enough new stuff and too expensive at retail.

They're fine at Wal-Mart, Target, and K-mart when you can find them, but Toys R Us is charging around 15-16 clams for these guys.

You're right about the lack of characters, though. They're just too tough to find. Hasbro's Smashers has a great roster out the door already while Total Heroes just feels like its been on life support since day one. The Black Manta and Cyborg that were online exclusives looked nice, though.
