Happy New Years, today was nice, the weather here is mild, 60's sunshine slow rolling occasional clouds, the mood was calming in the sense of not-having to be somewhere, stopped & had lunch at the park, we enjoyed the calming breeze & children laughing & playing on the playground equipment, the only thing missing was my guitar, my fingers were itchy to play......too many times I get caught up in the rush of coming & going to work, planning for family events, hunting for hard to find figs, paying bills or grocery shopping & living in general....I forget that I can step back & put it off for today, my world will not end nor come to a standstill if I take a day off.....Last Year went so quickly that I barely had time to take it all in....between family & work its flies by....Christmas Morning always takes me back to my childhood....seeing all the lil Jedi's & Princess's of Power in my life, tear through the presents is awesome especially when you know what lies beneath.....I rarely ever buy them clothes mostly just toys & stuff to dress up their rooms ie Blankets, PlayTents, Posters, Lights, Pictures of Superman or Monster High ect......I was that kid always wishing for a cool aunt or uncle to hook me up w/a terrordrome or Xwing or anything but my broken as$ toys but those days came & went & cause we were poor growing up & my relatives were always buying us clothes *yuck* I made a vow in my 10yr old mind....if I ever made it to Dad or Uncle Status I would make it rain toys for my lil one's....I would never let the dark clouds of adult thinking bring rain on my naive sunshine mind....I would make it a point to make my "kids" know the ways of the Force & why Knowing is Half the Battle is especially important, cause life is More than Meets the Eye sometimes & someday's we all need that type of reminder cause Life can be real & weigh us down w/its trials sometimes....I guess that's why I came full circle in collecting & dusting off my nerd-badge these past few years, now all things Marvel or DC are super awesome but I remember a time when I was teased for reading Spiderman Comics at Recess haha....I never truly let my inner child grow up completely & for that I'm thankful, I just wanted to say Thank You to all my fellow brothers & sisters on the boards here for an truly awesome year of sharing our thoughts & frustrations, our personal triumphs & passing storms....Here's to another year down & many blessings to all of us & our families & friends who know us and love us & the passion we share for lil plastic men & robots from galaxies far far away.....Happy New Year & More to all of you....
