Just got home from seeing it with friends!!!

I just gotta say, wow, loved it!! It was a great film!!! Plenty of great action, just the right amount of humor, some poignant moments, and a touch of romance!!! It had it all!!

Sooooo much better than either Iron Man sequels!!!! This is what a sequel should be like!! Seeing the Cap and X-Men DOFP trailers attached, and how well this movie was made; make me that much more excited to watch them both!!

Of course like usual, stay for the after credits, you're gonna geek out I think!!

What'd y'all think of it??

(Mods, if there's an existing thread to Thor TDW, feel free to merge mine with it!!

I was just going to make this thread! My thoughts:

Yes, it was a good sequel, very entertaining, both I and the fiance enjoyed it (she didn't like the first Thor).

The action was well done without making it into a disaster porn (Man of Steel). I enjoyed the escape from Asguard, that whole scene was put together well. The end battle was creative with Thor and Maliketh warping between worlds.

Any scene with Thor and Loki was a good one. I had a feeling his death was a trick. I'm going to miss him in Avengers 2. After Thor, Thor 2, and Avengers, he feels like part of the canvas.

Poor Friga.

Is there any actress easier on the eyes than Natalie Portman?

Agreed, good humor throughout. The whole theater was rolling with that Captain America bit. The human helpers were also entertaining without being annoying. I was half expecting that intern to be a SHIELD agent. This is really the category where other geek/nerd/comic movies can take a hint from Marvel films. The humor is never overdone, potty humor (Transformers) and it actually exists (DC films).

The after credits scene was a good one. Nothing Earth-shattering. Just some romance for the ladies and a bit more light hearted humor. No cheesy cameos (Iron Man 3).

(That was the last time I name drop another movie using ( ), promise).

What happened to Odin?

If I had a complaint it would be the set up with Sif being jealous of Thor and Jane. They obviously establish the fact that Sif is into Thor, she gives the stink eye to Jane in every scene they're in.....then no follow up. Small gripe.

Good movie. I enjoyed it a lot, I'd watch it again.

I would have liked Odin to do a bit more than just put his head in the sand. He just closes off Asgard and doesn't do much else even though this evil being from before their existence has come back to unmake all reality. Otherwise I highly enjoyed the film. Thor and Loki played off each other so well, and I liked the little nod to a Kronan before Thor turned him into pebbles (would have liked that to have been a better fight than it was). After credits scenes were sweet and set up Avengers 2 and Thor 3 (or is it Avengers 3 it's setting up?).

After seeing this film, I have to wonder where the hell are the figures?! I only see a single rack at Toys R Us, and nothing everywhere else. This would have been a good time to release a Thor Legends wave with the Warriors 3, Lady Sif, Thor, and Odin.

It's a set up for Avengers 3!! Ultron is the villain for 2!! The big guy should show up in Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet.

Going to go see it again on Thursday. Can't wait!!

Tell me, does it seem to you guys that Odin and Thor's personalities were switched around in this movie? Thor was the pacifist and Odin was the aggressor. I think even before the tragedy.

I know del Toro was also cast in Guardians so we'll probably see more of it there. I'm just wondering if the Thanos blow off will be in Guardians or in Avengers 3.

It has been confirmed that Thanos is in Guardians of the Galaxy, though it remains questionable as to whether he's the main villain or "the villain behind the villain" so to speak (The director made it sound like Ronan is the main villain of the piece, but they're all working for Thanos).

Though if the toy listings that leaked from Hasbro's customer service website are accurate and representative of the finished movie, Drax and Thanos will go head-to-head at some point in the film.

Actually it's a set-up for Guardians of the Galaxy.

And you'll see "the big guy" there before you'll see him in Avengers 3.

I'm sure, but ultimately Avengers 3 will be the big one, what all phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is leading up to!!
