So now Iris is suiting up, who's next? Joe?

Hard to believe when this series was first announced people were worried Barry wouldn't wear a costume. If we knew then...

Ha ha, this show keeps going downhill for me. When summer arrives and all 4 Arrowverse shows have their latest seasons on Netflix, I'll make time, sit down and I'm gonna "binge" watch them all and decide which I'll keep following and which one I'll drop. I still have to check out Black Lightning, haven't even seen one episode of that one.

I get the feeling this summer a lot of people are gonna be calling this season The Flash's "Arrow Season 4."

As for Black Lightning, I had high hopes, but low expectations, for the show. Guess which won out.

I have heard rumblings of Black Lightning, about the show's social and political commentary which is cool, I like that sort of thing but I haven't heard or read anything about the content of the show beyond that.

The thing is, is it insightful social and political commentary giving us a look at both sides of the issue so we can form our own opinions... or is it ham-fisted "whitey-done-me-wrong" rhetoric spouted not so much to make a statement as to help a cookie cutter action show come off as "edgy?"

I got my answer within the first 5 minutes when the hero was rousted in a BS traffic stop, involving racial profiling, by the prerequisite fat, stupid white cop.

It's kind of a let down when you consider the rest of the CW hero-verse is populated by well-rounded, fully realized black characters like Joe, Iris, and Wally West, John Diggle, James Olsen, and even J'Onn J'Onzz; none of whom the writers felt the necessity to fall back on the tired old "Angry Black Man/Woman" stereotype with.

But that's just me, your mileage may vary.

True story. My sister, who doesn't watch broadcast TV (ask her, I still don't get why), recently got deep into The Flash through streaming it on Netflix. So, she's just itching for the current season to end and hit VOD so she can get caught up. Keep in mind, she has no idea what's been happening this season.

Not sure whether I should warn her, or if it would be more humane to let her witness the harsh reality of bad TV for herself.

and he keeps revealing his "secret" identity to everyone! a lot of the time the excuse given is to "gain trust" which is pretty stupid because I would assume people would trust the Flash

Kind of a stark contrast to classic shows like Adventures of Superman or The Lone Ranger, where NOBODY learned the hero's secret identity

I have not been keeping up with Flash, was watching season 3 on netflix but have stalled out recently, but I had to share this:

While I was waiting with my students at the car pick up line at the end of the day, two of them started talking about the Flash. One of my girls was ranting that there are too many speedsters on the show ("Seriously, there are like four speedsters on the show now! I want to know who I can write to to complain, there's too many!") These are 4th graders, ten year olds :) Now, while I do occasionally talk comics to them, I've never given them my opinions on any of the TV shows, so I know this is coming straight from them and not parroting anything I tell them.

I just got a kick out of that.

Not surprising the show goes over well with elementary school kids. So far, from what I've seen, this season plays like a bad episode of Teen Titans Go.

Seriously!?! Another Laurel? How messed up is it that outside of those few times Gregg and company perved out to having her shot, stabbed, beat-up, tied-up or kidnapped, Laurel has had more to do AFTER they killed her off than she did in the almost four years she was a series regular/female lead on Arrow?

Then again, if it weren't for Katie's surprise visit, I probably wouldn't have made it through this episode. ("Thinking Caps?" REALLY!?!)

Well played, Gregg, well played.

Geez why is this Harry Wells & his numerous multiverse versions still on this show!? Does this actor have some sort of blackmail on them or something?

Don't you love it when they come up with a hook for an episode, but that's all they have, so they end up tacking on whatever nonsense they can come up with to fill in the rest of the 42 minutes?

"Barry! How could you use the cure on the giant man-eating shark-man, thus stopping him from biting me in half, without asking the monster's permissions!?!"

And then they have Barry APOLOGIZE! What the literal F--K!?!

The whole thing was like a news article I read once where a woman sued a guy for giving her CPR when her heart stopped!

Its just like I feared. You can only veer so far to the left before you have no idea where you at anymore.

Come on guys, try putting away the manifesto and writing an episode for once.

I only caught the lat half hour.  Good Grood/Shark fight, the CGI looked really good for a network TV show.  This is what comic fans tune in for, right?  I thought it delivered.

Absolutely! Like I said, you have a great hook, it's just the stuff running up to the Grodd/King Shark fight that fell short. The fight itself was awesome, especially considering how the CGI on Grodd kinda dipped in quality in some of his follow up early appearances on the show..

I'm not the only one who sees his costume appears to have gaps/openings not really rips but it looks very odd
