Robinson Cano signed with the Mariners.

10 years/$240MM. Absolutely putrid move for both parties. Seattle is getting the best second baseman in the game, but let's keep in mind...the guy is already over 30. They will get about 5 good years out of him before the contract becomes an albatross. Safeco field is also an infamously terrible park for hitters. His numbers will drop a noticeable amount. As for Cano? He goes from the bright lights of NY (and all its endorsements) to the relatively obscure Seattle fan base. He left a perennial title contender for a team that won't be going anywhere for a real long while. In a few years, this will be seen as one of the worst signings in professional sports history... and I am not even biased. It's that bad.

MLB votes to eliminate home-plate collisions

Thanks you idiots for more of the wussification on america

Yep, my thoughts exactly. Just another rule to "protect" player safety. Home plate collisions have been a part of the game for years. Now they suddenly want to abolish it over...what? Maybe 2 or 3 injuries a year? Please...

Russell Wilson has been drafted by the Rangers.

Yea, this happened. Though, considering how his NFL career is going, I would say there is approximately a 0.00% chance he touches a baseball.

I feel that within the next 5 years either Cano will want out of Seattle OR they will want to trade him because they no longer can afford him

It reminds me so much of when Texas signed A-Rod

Big three in managers are going into the HOF. Joe Torre,Tony LaRussa and Bobby Cox.
I'm headed to Cooperstown next year for sure!
Too bad this wasn't done earlier we woulf of at least had some big names going in instead of what happened

There will be big names next year....

I expect Maddux, Glavine and Thomas to go in.

I was watching the MLB Network and they asked Bob Costas if there will ever be a player to get 100% of the vote.He said when Mariano Rivera gets in and doesn't get 100% you may never see a player get the full 100

Rivera is a hall-of-famer but he should not get a higher vote count than Maddox did or that Ken Griffey should get.

Palmero is done. He didn't get enough votes to stay on the ballot. Sosa will be off next year. McGwire only got 11% of the vote. If he's not off next year,he'll be off the following year. That'll leave only Clemens and Bonds.

Don't worry...there's more steroid boys to join them...such as Sheffield next year.

Why shouldn't he? With all the records he broke? Plus Griffey after Seattle was a mediocre player. He was always on the DL in Cinncinati
