Ever met someone famous?

Also, what do you think of Daniel Craig? You seem to be a pretty opinionated guy, so I'm very curious to know what you think.

Fave Bond ? Hard to say. I respect the franchise for its longevity and forgive its flaws era to era in trying to stay viable. For me, the actor playing Bond has never been problem, even in the most problematic films. I love Daniel Craig as Bond, even though Casino Royale has been the only outing that has done it for me. Has nothing to do with him...just the story, the execution, the expectations. And the same can be said of each actor in their repective eras. My selection of which Bond to watch is purely mood, reflecting on my outside baggage at the time. Though I will say, the only Bond movie I watch but dont really care for is Diamonds Are Forever.

It's strange I play favorites with Doctor Who, another long running series, but I just cant settle down and say " ____ is my fave Bond actor."

Hmm...interesting. You sound exactly like me, although I grew up watching Roger Moore. But like you, I can't say he's my favorite Bond. There's times I even like Timothy Dalton. I too like them all and enjoy all the films, well...the ones I've seen. I've not seen all of the Connery ones.

And y'know, you mentioned the Bond franchise trying to stay viable over the years, I used to dismiss some of the older films, since they seemed out-of-date, but then I changed my way of thinking; I view them all as snap-shots of who Bond was and what was going on in the particular era in which a given film was shot. The individual films reflect the political climate, technology, etc. I also imagine that the identity of James Bond and 007 designation is a name and agent number reserved for MI5's top agent, and that's why he's been different people over the years. I know that in "reality" he's meant to be the same person, but it makes more sense in my mind to use different people to serve as "James Bond". And these different men that have used this code name over the years are rotated due to retirement, death, or what have you.

By the way, I don't think I've seen Diamonds Are Forever. I was thinking of Never Say Never, but from what I've read, that's not considered an official entry in the series.

I met William Shatner at a ribbon cutting event for a new emergency room back in the 90's. He was the host of the Rescue 911 show at the time.

Tons of baseball players via Spring Training but also attending various games: Bill Murray, Jerry Springer, Dick Vitale, Mia Hamm, Larry the Cable Guy.

Lots of Conventions meets of Star Trek & Star Wars cast members, Comic Book people, Lou Ferrigno, Star Wars author Timothy Zaun, 60's Batman cast(West, Gorshin, Craig, Ward, Newmar) Two that I regret not talking to or getting an auto from were Zachary Quinto (Heroes) and Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville). Different conventions but Heroes had just come out and Smallville had yet to premiere during those opportunities.

Ray park was really nice and so was Hamill. Stewart did not want shake hands or be touched by the fans at all. Shatner was pretty cold shouldered.

Met a few, but my favorite is probably when I met Dennis Haysbert and Randy Johnson in Okinawa. The Unit is one of my favorite tv shows so that was probably the one time I got excited for seeing a celebrity.

I don't really count athletes, only because I live in Baltimore so they are easy to meet since they are always at events. A guy from the band SR71 comes to my favorite local bar sometimes, which is cool since I liked that band AND I actually saw them play live in Japan (which is rare for me, as I don't go to concerts).

Got to meet Jerry "The King" Lawler yesterday at the Cape Comic Con in Cape Girardeau, MO. Great guy, got a pic with him & he signed his book for me. Even recorded a message for one of my friends who is battling Hodgkin's lymphoma right now & his white cell count is really low so he doesn't go out very much right now (I had him record a message on my phone for King a couple of days ago which I did save). And I didn't realize until we had already left that I forgot to hit save on my phone so I had lost the message. Bloody hell. @bH@ I'm too used to just using a regular camera where pics are automatically saved. I've only had a cell phone for a couple of months. My buddy was very understanding when I talked to him last night & was just glad Lawler had wanted to send him a message of well wishes.

But I still feel like a colossal @moon@ .

I met the Golden States Warriors in the mid '80s.

The wife of Jamie Hyneman of Mythbusters fame was my 8th grade Science teacher. My 12th grade English teacher is the mother of one Joseph Staten, one of the main people behind the Halo franchise.
