G.I. Joe #1 Variant Covers Revealed

Recommended Posts

Really like that Arthur Adams Baroness cover.

Agreed. When I saw it I almost wanted to put money toward this latest numbering gimmick.

You can also bet that that will be the one cover you can't find since the other ones look like complete @$$.

The baroness cover is as good as the heavy block and Duke is bad! Anyone know if they are still mixing the two into one character like they were initially?

I still can't stomach the redesigns, comics is a visual media, looks are important, and I can't help but think these designs only hurt them.

Ha! This is the first I've heard of that. I wonder what you get when you mix a large African American who carries a huge gun and likes to cook, with another large African American who carries a huge gun and likes to cook.

HD liking to cook only came into play once Roadblock was off limits due to copyright issues. He originally liked classic music and sang in the church choir.

Originally the showed an image that was clearly roadblock... and then suddenly started calling him Heavy Duty in promotional images and from what I understand the book. The issue was that Heavy Duty was in the movie and Sigma Six, not roadblock, and that's who Hasbro wanted them to use.
