Voltron Pilots 3.75"

After finishing up the Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets)series, one of my buddies borrowed me the original Voltron series Golion! This was another original Japanese series that I had not seen. Let me say that the original blows away the US version. Yes the US has the cooler name and soundtrack, but everything else goes to the Japanese on this series. The characters I was used to Keith, Lance, Hunk and Pidge once again had 2 new names each that I was unfamiliar with. The dubbed names of Chief, Moody, Hothead and Shorty with only Princess remaining the same. Then the original Japanese names of Akira Kogane, Isamu Kurogane, Tsuyoshi Seidō and Hiroshi Suzuishi.

 

I then went ahead and got the MattyCollector Voltron Classic set of lions with the figures. I wasn't happy with the figures so I upgraded them to Marvel Universe scale customs.

 

Keith:

Helmet / Key - Mattel Hunk

Head / Body - MU Steve Rogers

Gloves - MU Captain America

Boots - Red Power Ranger

Belt - I used one of my extra Gatchaman belts on Keith so the 'G' stood for Golion as a tribute

 

Lance:

Body - MU Iron Fist

Gloves - MU Patriot

 

Hunk:

Head - MU Absorbing Man

Body - MU Gladiator

Princess:

Head / Belt / Badge - Mattel Princess

Body - MU X-23

 

Pidge:

Head - Mattel Pidge

Body - Mattel Lance
