GI Joe 2012 Convention Sets- anyone need one picked up?

I am going to JoeCon with my wife, and as usual will be able to pick up one extra box set with free item for attendees and one each of all 3 3/4 exclusives including paratrooper figure if it is a 3 3/4 figure this year.

I normally charge $600 to cover the set and all exclusives as that covers the taxes, my time, packages, shipping, and paypal fees and is way better than ebay. Considering the mess that GIJCC is having with credit card fraud issues and if you are worried about paying them directly with a credit card I can take care of that for you, as I plan to use a prepaid card to pay for my set and the extra set, as well as loading up a separate card for when I go to the convention iteself or use cash.

Anyway, if you are interested, please drop me a line.

Have they even announced who or what the box set will consist of and what the other items might be?

that's what I am wondering too. How can you charge a flat fee of 600 when we don't even know what the exclusives will be or how much they will cost?

True, no one knows what the con set is, but then again some just buy it no matter what to have "one of everything." I don't know what the con stuff is either but I plan to get one of each, and also enjoy the convention itself.

A review of last years con economics give me the price. I have done this several years in the past and it always works out as a win-win for me, my wife, and the joe buyer who can't get to the con but wants everything sold/provided.

The Con Set should be around $315 (hopefully not higher, who knows they always raise the price), and last year they had a high number of exclusives (2 pack Int'l PP figures $45, PP Stinger and figure $45, Water Moccasin Repaint $35, Cobra Commander $22, Paratroop Televiper Officer $20 and then also the carded Dialtone $25), plus of course the attendee free item whatever it may be (price nothing, but homefront purchasers can't get it). Total is like $507 not including the ability to get the free attendee item, factor in my wife isn't thrilled to stand in line with me for two hours to help me pick up the sets and then in line to buy the exclusives (hence nice dinner to make it up to her), but I need her and the ticket to make sure I get one of each the first night on Thursday, the bite paypal takes for the money transfer, and the shipping will be around $25-40, and voila right around $600. Paying me up front means I can order the day it goes up on registration, hoping to be one of the first 100 so we get the exclusive pin and in the first group of people picking up my con set and getting exclusives. Again, the golden ticket thing from last year chaps my hide, but we should be able to get one of each. So total costs, and the hassle of fighting fellow joe fans and the actual costs may be more or less depending on the exclusives offered, but considering what the listing price will go for once they hit ebay, if I happen to make $25-50 for my time and effort I think it's a fair trade for being able to stay home yet still get everything without fighting others who might outbid you.

P.S. I am not forcing anyone to make this deal, but I deal on all the joe boards and have great feedback as chuckles32, if you want to find me on ebay I am under kitpproductions and highvoltageproductions as I buy and sell (not so much anymore) on Ebay.

I wasn't really questioning the price in regards to whether it's fair or not... Not trying to say you are scalping or anything. I am sure the price is well worth it to people that can't go. I was just thinking like what if they actually release MORE items than that or they charge more... then what? You gonna eat the cost?

Or if they decided to only release 1 or 2 extras, and it comes down to 400 bucks.. then would you give some back?

The only con I have ever been to was 2003 in SF. I remember only having to wait in the exclusives line for about 15-20 minutes ... and I went back to their little store 2 or 3 times. I don't think anything sold out until the Saturday. I can't remember. But I do remember getting like 5 or 6 of the blue HISS II, which I think is the best exclusive they have ever done for a con.

but from what I heard, last year's "Golden Ticket" thing was complete BS and ruined it for MANY MANY con-goers.. and only helped pad the wallets of scalpers
