Green Lantern Animated Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I watched it...just don't really have much to say. I sit through it because it is Green Lantern but still don't like the animation style of it. I'll give it longer and hope it grows on me. At least my kids like it.

I watched episode 2 and 3 and I can say it was pretty decent. The animation does leave little to be desired but I am hoping for some really good stories. I hope the stories are something different from what I have come to expect as well.

Don't judge a book by its cover

We thought this about Transformers Animated and it had a great story

I'm a big fan of Green Lantern (from way back) so I have been watching this series since the "sneak preview" earlier this year.

As others have pointed out; I'm not crazy about the style of animation. The stories; on the other hand, do seem pretty good so far. Granted we have a very limited sample.

The first 2 episodes dealt with some pretty serious issues, life and death, dealing with the consequences of your decisions/actions, loss of loved ones among others. That's not too shabby for a Saturday morning cartoon.

Now having said that; I hope they don't fall back on having Kilowog just beat up everybody/everything.and then Hal swoop in and save the day at the end but so far I like what I see story-wise anyway.

I hope so Wheeljack, I want to like this show and in no way giving up on it. I'll keep an open mind. In any case, it serves as some father/sons bonding time!

Its good to see a Bruce Timm production back on TV. I like the sytle. I think it fits in well with the rest of Timms DCAU. However, I dont know if that style translates well into CGI, but whatever....

That they are focusing on the Space Cop aspect of Green Lantern instead of him on Earth is interesting, we'll have to see where it goes...but I do wish they'd tie it into the rest of the DCAU. Like the reason Hal never appeared in the JLU was because he was away fighting the Red Lanterns...

Young Justice is the better show, but I'd like to see a show focusing on the Justice League back on TV, but that we have a DC show on thats not Batman or Superman is good.

I dont like the DC animated shorts, I think its degrading to the characters...

I like the Titan spots but not the rest. This episode was ok. Not sure how much I am digging the Hal/Kilowog renegade GL angle. I wonder if the Sinestro Corps will be coming in season 2. Also where are the red lanterns? And Razer as a red lantern helping the Greens doesn't make sense. He is supposed to be mindless and full of rage. I am interested to see where they go with this and who else Hal will be adding to the fold.

I didn't really care for the newest episode, yet last week had a very good story dealing with the Red Lanterns, it was about time they returned to the show.

Next week's GL ep. does look very good though, Star Sapphire looks to be finally making an appearance.
