Thoughts on new series coming this year?

Recommended Posts

many have voiced their displeasure with the art samples that have been released. i for one am not disapointed with it. i like the artistic stylization of it and am looking forward to see what they do with it. my hopes are that they take note from the recent thundercats show. i love the new style with a healthy dose of homage to the classic version.

another complaint was the blades on don's bo and mike's nunchucs. from what i have read/heard, the blades are retractable and are used sparingly. won't know for sure until the show airs though. the second pic shows the blades i reference.

if you have not seen the images, here's some pics

the thing I don't understand is the Blades I mean it's a kid's show I can see them bonking the bad guys around with a stick getting by censor boards but I don't think stabbing or slashing bad guys would go down well with parents and if they aren't going to use the blades what's the point

I just realized the 3 toes... I thought it was always 2 to resemble ninja shoes...

it always was two toes. the only other incarnation of turtles to have other than two toes was michael zulli's rendition in volume one of the original comic series. his version also had four fingers instead of the usual thress.

at first the additional toe annoyed me a little but not so much now. if you think about it, they have always had three fingers and now they have three toes...so they finally match :) i love the way the toes are on the new nick figures, they look WAAAAAYYYY better than the blocky toon look. overall i'm extremely stoaked for the new show, comic, and amazing toys!!!

if all goes well in this toy line, we may actually see the 25th anniversary comic turtles that playmates cancelled a few years back.

I like the Turtles but everyone else is awful to me, April looks like a kid, Krang is a mess, the foot soldiers are ok, Shredder looks whack. Splinter looks a mess, I don't know why they can't do a simple update from the original designs, they always have to go the extra mile and most often it doesn't work. I don't like the three toes on the turles, so used to 2 toes that it makes me think of a person with 6 toes instead of 5. Either way, i hope the toon is a success and is taken seriously, unlike the new incarnation in which Shredder was a alien.......................WHACK, I don't care how seriouis the Turtles were that universe they lived in was terrible.

yeah, splinter looks like a cross between a llama and a badger...horrible. all's they needed to do was slightly retool/recolor the splinter from the movie line and all would have been good.

i dont care for april either. she's too ben 10 looking. shedder's ok, but they could've done WAAAAAAAY better on him. he's lost that rogue master ninja look. now he looks like some kind of thugis robot.
