When Wal-Mart stupidity meets collector dishonesty

Hasbro Star Wars fans, see anything wrong with the attached picture?

Not only did some SW fan bring this in for a credit, some idiot who works at the store put a 2011 UPC over the 1997 UPC and put this hunk of junk on the shelf.

Next time someone wants to complain about dishonest collector's remember it takes an equal amount of stupidity on the employees part to let this crap happen.

I'm pretty sure Wal-Mart doesn't have UPC stickers floating around to slap on product. The bastich who returned it cut & pasted a Vintage UPC onto the cardback him/her/itself. Wal-Mart's only blame in this is that the employee actually accepted it for a return. Everything else is on the jerk who brought it in.

I don't have a picture of it, but I saw what is possibly the worst toy repack/theft anyone has ever seen.

It was this G.I. Joe boxed set.

http://www.yojoe.com/action/09/cardedimages/gijoeset.shtml

The cover flap was torn off.

The laser rifles see in this set were left in the package.

The figures were replaced with o-ring style ARAH figures. Two were from the '80s, one was Barbecue and I can't recall the other one. The rest were three figures from the '97-'00 era or o-ring figures. None of them were in good shape and Barbecue was downright awful.

Most repacks/thefts can fool the person at the return desk, but this thing was ridiculous. I really don't know how they even considered giving the thief a refund.

Yeah, because the bastich who returned it created a see-through sticker that works perfectly with the "Can't Find a Price?" scanner.

And because retailers can't generate UPC labels.

Wal-Mart's only blame is accepting an action figure from 1997, not understanding why it wouldn't scan in the system, accepting the return and putting it back on the shelf where the guy who's been running the toy aisle for four years hasn't notice.

But you keep with that theory...

I bought the Question from the DCUC line and it was missing the collect and connect peice.I didn't mind since I wanted the figure more then the peice but this was at a Walmart also

That's pretty commonplace. Can't pull that at Target though.

When I worked at BJ's Wholesale Club we had a return policy but it was completely ignored.

Over 30 days? Return.

Obviously wore those shoes? Return.

Empty wrapper of meat? Return.

Basically the GM's theory was not to piss off the customer. I guess it's more cost effective to keep the customer happy so they come back.

But for it to reach the point where it goes back on the shelf? Awful.
