This one is pretty impressive.

It's fantastic. I would've never guessed they were capable of this based on the other sub figures. Not so fond of the red stripe on the helmet but it's forgivable considering how good it is otherwise.

I am actually impressed with this one myself also. Looks like the helmet might come off to put on the boxing one on. So only three out of the twelve I like. I might of joined if I liked atleast nine.

About half of them I find appealing. What I don't find appealing is $42.00 for a subscription and $20-25.00 a figure plus tax plus shipping. When all costs are factored in you are talking $30+ per figure. That is just insane.

Yeah, I kinda agree.......I'm ashamed to admit I like the Nano-BAT though....but thats really it. I wouldn't be too heartbroken if I never had any of the other figures.

 

Nice Job on the Big Boa though......thats a pretty snazzy figure.

I would include Grunt, Topside and TNT with those. At least they still fall under the "25th Anniversary" category, unlike VvV Jinx, Barrel Roll, Sure Fire and the Nano BAT. Cover Girl kind of works as a 25th Anniversary figure too.

Is there a limit per member? I can see paying someone with a membership the extra to get just the figures I want, but has that been factored in and verboten? I mean, scalpers would certainly take advantage of that, so who knows?

I've always loved Big Boa, against my better judgement. I mean, he didn't always seem practical or very realistic, but at the end of the day he diid seem like a fitting and very intimidating drill instructor for Cobra. This new one is definitely nice. It's a must have.

 

And...after almost twenty-five years wondering, I might actually finally find out what he looks like underneath that helmet. (lol)

Did Boa ever show up in the cartoon or an actual comic book story? I only recall ever seeing him in the GIJoe Universe comic thing, the comic that basically just had characters and their bio's

He showed up in the Devil's Due Comics...and was killed if I recall.

He was in one of the newer comics... I think the series with Chuckles working for cobra that lead into the current Civil War stiff. He doesn't hear the helmet in the comic, but they set it up so he would "need" it. He gets his jaw shattered or his nose destroyed some how in a fight. I forget the details... sorry. It's hard to keep all the stories straight will the various on going continuities.

If they make the figures $15 a piece, then I'll get 2 subs. Otherwise I'll have to pass on these.

I'm liking this figure and won't lie, I'm ready to sign up. I like nine or ten of the announced figures and the only real "deal breaker" here will be if the club goes above $25 a figure. Sure I wish it would be cheaper, but I look at some of the other exclusives that have come out the last couple year (Slaughter, Zarann, Dial Tone) and on the secondary market they are really expensive. I don't want to wait a year of so and decide I want Big Boa only to see him selling for $50+. I already regret not signing up last year and not getting Dial Tone.

 

BTW, one of the poster above asked if members could order more than one figure. I believe they said that if you had subscribed to the club you could order more of the figures on top of your sub without ordering a second sub. Maybe I'm remembering wrong but I think they said that.
