The fridge didn't bother me as much as you because its only a movie. But it was the 50's and greasers liked their nicknames.Hell nowadays the crazy actors think their kids are pets instead of people and give them funky names. So Mutt bing a nickname don't bother me.

LOL If he was a real person and posted today his username would be Mutt :P

I honestly thought I was the only one who LIKED this movie. I'm glad there are a few others that appreciated the movie for what it is... a popcorn thriller. That's what George Lucas has always been about, going to the movies on a Saturday afternoon to watch a FUN movie. He grew up watching old serials and B movies. Even Star Wars stems from this.

KOTCS takes place in the atomic age. The movie was written to reflect the era. No more Nazis... bring on the Russians. George clearly made it a point to add every element of what he loves into KOTCS. The movie starts off with a friggin drag race... Can we say American Graffiti?? Giant Ants!!! Totally a B Movie element. Martians and telekinetic abilities... totally 50's sci fi stuff.

The fridge scene was cool IMO... Only thing that was far fetched is the fridge was blasted completely free and clear of the shock wave zone... and Indy didn't get roasted alive inside of the fridge. LOL! But great fun to watch.

The prairie dogs were a little stupid... but hey, It was cute and funny.

Regarding a new Indy movie... I don't think they should do it. I think Harrison Ford is too old to continue this role. Rebooting the franchise with a new actor playing Indy is OUT OF THE QUESTION and would be a sin... IMO.

Now the cartoon concept is brilliant and I hope they move forward with that instead.

I enjoyed Crystal Skull. Sure, it was no Raiders but it was fun.

Honestly, the nuked the fridge scene didn't bother me nearly as much as "Shai Labuff: lord of the apes!" but it's good to see Spielberg appears to have a sense of humor about it's backlash

It's so refreshing to see fans these days that don't take these films too seriously and just enjoy them for what they are. I too loved KOTCS. Like you guys alluded to, it wasn't perfect, but it was fun.

I hate that movie. More for the lack of action and boring parts and fake cgi ants. Ants why did it have to be ants

I will admit the ants were a little over the top...it was almost cartoonish how they could overtake a fully adult human being. Is that even possible? I mean, I know we're talking about a film series that includes face-melting ghosts, human sacrifices surviving, however briefly, with their hearts being ripped out of their chest by hand, centuries-old knights, people jumping out of crashing planes in inflatable rafts, and magical village-reviving rocks, just to name a few fantastical elements. It just seemed a little less plausible than most of the crazy scenarios explored in the films, but I still liked it. I just think alot of fans take these movies a little too seriously when they're just meant to be enjoyed and not over-analyzed. Having said that, I will concede that Raiders stands alone as the best in the series to me, because...yes, it's the most grounded and realistic one in my personal opinion.

The only good action sequence in Last Crusade is the tank chase

What about the plane sequence or driving sequence in the car and the motorcycle sequence. I love those action chase scenes. The boat scene I thought should of been cut. But the rest were great.

The tank scene has the most high risk stakes. the others are mostly fluff.

Okay, so the boat sequence was the most exciting part of Venice, which isnt saying much. The motorcycle chase is good, but brief. And the plane sequence is hard to watch now...even for late eighties effects, the bluescreen cockpit cuts really look crappy. Where's the @##@@ wind? Film it for real or put a big fan on the actors!
