Megator -- Review [Who got him]

Recommended Posts

I like this figure. I really like his weapon. I think Megator is much better than Tytus. I think that because Megator is more of a monster he works better at the larger scale. Really cool they added a second head too.

Am I the only one that will get rid of Megator once he arrives?

I don't think you are. There are a lot of fans who don't care for the giant figures.

I would care for the giant figures if done correctly like Battle Cat and Panthor... I dont care to spend that much money on giant stactions...

SP - Gygor has less hate cause he at least have ball jointed shoulders...

It's Gygor though........

I don't consider them stactions, they are more like retro toys, back in the 80's style articulation. Sure I prefer the diverse articulation and I do think it is a cop-out on Mattel's part but at least I can pose him in many ways.

I agree about Gygor... I didnt buy him either... That was a bad decision by Mattel...

I can understand not articulating the lower half of Tytus/Megator but the arms is inexcusable...

I did buy Gygor and it just feels wrong. He is too big and doesn't fit in at all. I am having a hard time parting with him because he was 30.00 bucks. I can't get my money back by selling on ebay because no one wants him and I don't want to give him away because he was 30 friggin bucks.

I agree about Tytus and Megator and the arms. I have learned to deal with it though. I have a bunch of toys from the 80's that I used to collect and one thing I always liked were giant figures (in the same line with regular figure, no regular oversized figures) and playsets. I have about every major playset from the 80's....just missing a few, so never getting the originals means something to me and I never went back to buy the original Megator and Tytus. I would say he really is only worth about 15 bucks but I really wanted him and truth be told he is an improvement over Tytus.

With the articulation, it's a cost issue.

I like the Megator figure, but I can understand the negative comments. I don't have Tytus and I have no desire to obtain him. I feel the same way about Tytus that a lot of people feel about Megator. I like that they included both, but they're not perfect figures. If they wouldn't have made them I wouldn't have missed them either.happy.gif

I was way more impressed with him than I thought I'd be. Everything about him is super cool. Megator's weapon really makes me wish Tytus had come with something other than his stupid weapon. I think Mattel has to do something about that crappy vacuum cleaner thing now.

I think my 2 year old was even more excited than me when she saw a box on the front porch. She waited impatiently as I took him out of the package. Then somehow she put him in a really cool pose that I decided to use for display.

The zombie head put a nice exclamation point on the figure. The rooted in hair will no doubt cause Matty headaches in the Q & A sessions (Q: Why can't (random POP figure) have rooted in hair? A: Logistics but keep reading the bios.). Nonetheless he stands majestically on my shelf with his zombie head in the pose my daughter created.

I like Gygor because I like gorillas. And giant gorillas are even cooler. I don't own him yet (no big figs for me), but he'll be one I get when I have room.

I think Gygor was the start of Mattel thinking just because something was rare or unproduced in the past, they could get away with making it in MOTUC. It was OK at first, but interest in the line has sorta topped off, so trying it with the Star Sisters wasn't good.

I don't know. The big stuff is cool, but I don't know how much it's helping the line. I think we'd be better off with regular figures for $20 rather than all these oversized, higher priced items other than Battle Cat, Panthor, and Swift Wind.

I picked up Gygor on sale and I'm glad I did. He's pretty good fig. I passed on him at first, but then I got Shadow Beast and I was real happy with him, so I decided to get Gygor. So far I think the mid large figures have worked better in this line. I just hope they get Granamyr right. Since he's a dragon I think it will work, but I wouldn't put it past Matty to mess it up. (don't mess with 4H design)

I wanted a Shadow Beast before we saw him, but the brown ruined it. And then Mattel made it worse by trying to lie and tell us what we know by saying they're supposed to be brown even though they've always been a shade of purple.

I think the brown looks good. I don't think purple would have worked on the figure.

I think a really dark wine purple would...

I gotta stop reading this thread, it makes me want a Megator!

I would just wait for a BBTS clearance... Tytus and Gygor is actually cheaper than Matty...

Good advice, like I keep saying all over the place, I am almost done on MOTUC, but I will cherry pick! Ive got Gygor and I really love the figure, maybe its the paint, but I think hes really cool

I think if you have Megator you will be happy. Also isn't diversity is size and scale cool for a line, now we have beasts and giants.......come on everyone loves giants. He could come in and swat away whole armies and even a legion of masters......

leaving He-Man to go all apecrap crazy on him.

Besides, if you have He-Ro, Hordak and King Hiss, then you need a nice giant to tie all that together.
