G.I. Joe: Retaliation Takes Over Star Trek Sequel's June 2012 Release Date

Deadline reports that Paramount has been doing some shuffling with two of it's movie's set for release in 2012. The G.I.Joe sequel which is now being called "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" has been moved to June 29, 2012, which was originally slated to be the release date for the Star Trek sequel. It has been hinted multiple times over the last couple months that things had been running behind with the new Star Trek film so this delay really comes as no surprise. JJ Abrams is expected to return as the director for the sequel but their has been no new release date set for the movie, though many seem to think it will be around Christmas 2012.

 

G.I. Joe: Retaliation continues to move into full swing and is being directed by Jon M. Chu. The movie will star hanning Tatum, Dwayne Johnson and Adrianne Palicki, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura producing.

 

 

Eh.. It was already reported in the Star Trek forum that it was being moved to December 2012

Not sure how I feel about this. While I like that Paramount is putting faith in the movie, the fact that it comes out five days before Spiderman doesn't look good. Ad tot eh fact that most movie toys come out a mnth before the movie mean that hasbro will either push everything we've seen out real soon, cancel stuff or push it back.
