G.I. Joe Monthly Subscription?

Why was there not any news on this at SDCC? It was the most perfect time to get the exposure and gain new fans and members that were not aware of the GI Joe Collector's Club offerings. It seems to me that it was a failure when it could have gotten more media hype like the Matty Monthly subscriptions are getting. All they had to do was announce the plans and perhaps 1 or two more figures to get the necessary buzz. WHY???

Is anyone else disappointed that they were AWOL as I really want the club to succeed?

I think they should have news about this in Aug newsletter. I know the current rumor is 20-25 per fig (yoinks) with a monthly fig and a 13th exclusive sub fig. The bigger bummer for me is the rumor of pay it all or at least half up front, thats a bit crazy to me. I dont like the idea of paying for somthing before I get it. I have been burned by the Joe club before (the mobat repaints) and stuck holding the bag, so im more than a little leery of them.

$20-$25 seems a little steep for 3.75" figures.

Especially since most of those figures are 90% reused parts.

In responce to the original post, yes I was disappointed we didn't hear anything. I fully expected some kind of announcement even if it was just minor. Then again, this was a pretty disappointing con for gijoe, in general.

Love GI Joe, but I can't stand the hands on this new line and they seem so much flimsier. Kinda disappointed in this update.

ya good idea but the hands are to small to hold there guns tight and the soft plastic sucks. i hope they can make them better the more they do.

its a good idea but it sucks you have to pay 10bucks to be a member and the figs are what 30 a pop. also they use hasbros molds and rarely make new molds. look how bad DT was when they could of made him bad a** but no they made him look like so many ppls customs of him. wet suit was a great idea and well done. also i dont want the whole set i just want ones i like so its hard to justify the price to get these figs.

I hate the fact that they are apparently dragging their feet on this. An announcement in April and then nothing since. But on the other hand it makes me wonder if they are really thinking this thing through before they give us all the details. Unlike say Mattel and their DCUC figure subscription. but they could have decided to scrap the whole idea since Mattel has flooded the marked with this type of thing. Guess only time will tell.
