I don't know if this is a good or bad thing, I asked about Sideshows cheaper prices versus Hot Toys many said that Sideshow had cheaper products........so is this good news. I know as far as 12/13 inchers DC Direct was cheaper than Hot Toys and Sideshow by a significant amount.

With regards to 1/6 scale I do collect Sideshows GI Joe line. Comparing it to Hot Toys, Sideshow is still not up to par in terms of the the body they use and headsculpt compared to HT but if Sideshow is going to do figures based on the comics I'm thinking they'll be fine they just need to develop new pro bodies to get a good representation of the DC characters coz what they have now works for GI Joe but these are military type figures and very generic in terms of body size.

Nothing is comparable to Hot Toys but that's another issue.

I will say everything SSC makes is overpriced and the quality has taken a serious nosedive making the price points even more ridiculous.

As for 1/6 scale figures I've said it many times and I'll say it again the only improvements they've made in that department have come through Hot Toys. The Armor body, the Hobbitt body, the new Battle Droids, all because of HT. And I'm sure PlayItLoud can tell you from the size of his 1/6 Snake Eyes and Cobra Commander they screwed up the first new generic male body they made.

Also, if I recall correctly the last female figure they made was Aayla Secura three years ago. They're still "developing" a new female body. For the past three years. I wouldn't count on seeing Wonder Woman anytime soon.

Anyway, since their DC stuff will mostly come from the comics the likenesses shouldn't be too bad. You can expect stuff from The Dark Knight Rises to look off.

They do busts and statues too, don't forget that.

Yup I ported Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow to their new Pro Body 1.2 and Commander to the new Pro 1.1 just to have a more better looking SE, SS and Commander.

And completely agree that Hot Toys is just way up there in overall quality but Sideshow's price is slowly getting to reach HT price though. Sideshow's price for their upcoming Cobra Viper and Gen. Hawk is priced at 134.99 I got HT Spiderman for the same price (pre-order) .

Sideshow is really great in their Premium Format 1/4 scale statues and comiquettes.

But on the plus side the likenesses are really good. It's easier to translate likenesses from cartoons and other art than from real people. At least it looks that way...

If there's something you want from SSC there are very few things you should preorder directly through them, if any.

Again, depends on what the statue is. The recent John Connor and T-1000 statues are slightly off, which is unacceptable for their price point.

Sideshow is really good in copying likeness from comics and cartoons and thats what I'm referring to when I say they are great in the 1/4 scale premium formats and comiquettes anything movie related some are good some are off.

I only order thru Sideshow if I like the Exclusive they have included with the figure most of the time I order thru Cornerstorecomics or Bigbad for anything 1/6 scale related.
