My "money saving" summer isn't going as planned

Let's see, going into this summer I was planning to save tons and tons of money. Only going to buy new GI Joes as I see them. Instead I've spent money on:

Almost the entire Captain America line

Thundercracker and Wheeljack

Three Star Wars guys ($4 each at Walmart)

POC Hawk and Cobra Commander

GL Movie masters Hal

I have also seen Thor, Green Lantern, X Men First Class (twice), TF3, Super 8 and Kung Fu Panda, with Cap American and Harry Potter still to go.

AND (probably most unexpectedly) paid for three of five dates.

So that money saving isn't working out too well for me....

I haven't spent much except for the movies I went to see I really don't have time or space for any new toys and I'm trying to save up to move out to my own place and to get a camera

Ahh...I'm always broke around this time of year. I'm a schoolteacher, so I get my summer checks at the end of the school-year all at once, and I in turn of course usually blow my budgeted toy money all at once. (lol) This year I blew it all on NECA Predators and Terminator 2 figures. I simply can't afford everything I'd like to have. I know that sounds kinda spoiled, but man...there's just so much stuff coming out all the time, it's nearly impossible to keep up. You guys know exactly what I'm talking about. I did sell a ton of my DVDs, CDs, Blu-rays, and some books in order to afford a couple of Star Wars Vintage Collection factory cases, but it's that whole "rob-Peter-to-pay-Paul" syndrome I occaisionally suffer from. (lol) I think only millionaires or even billionaires could afford every cool thing that comes out these days. You have to be selective when your limited in funds like me.

So, I figured that being deployed I would be able to save money by not being able to go to stores and buy my toys. If only it were that easy. Too many sites make it so easy to buy online. And some even send stuff out here. I think one problem I'm going to run into is that a lot of the figures I want, I can't find as singles. I'd have to buy a case to get them. And honestly, I don't want a case. I'm picky about getting exactly what I want, and not extra junk I don't want or need. Now, I'm going to be stuck trying to get these from people in trades, or buying them later on at inflated prices. @grumpy@

Either way I look at it, I'm not going to save money.

I haven't spend much money on toys but all the movies coming up... whoa! Got to see so many of them! Going to the movies is getting expensive!
