too many accessories

I just bought a low light to open and i have to say while it is impressive what hasbro is doing with the detailed accessories it's to much. I would rather have them cut back on that and use the extra budget to put out more than 4 or 5 joes at a time. what do you think?

I don't mind a few accessories as in combat you have to have a back up I had the same thing with my Snow trooper none of the accessories fit his hands and he had several rifles and I think 3 pistols haven't really had the same problem with Joes though I haven't bought any in a while either

I think when all there is to complain about is too many accessories, things are going pretty good.

I will agree that a bullet is completely needless.

I do not wat to see more than 4-5 figure waves. That number is just fine with me. Especially with the climbing price of action figures. You get more of a chance to buy the whole wave and save up for the next.

I'm all about accessories........accessories are part of what made the original RAH so cool. Its what made the Joes and their specific craft so unique. Can you imagine Snake-Eyes without his trademark uzi and sword. (Or Timber for that matter) Most of the time when I was little when I was picking out Joes the accessories MATTERED. "Well this guy has a machete and a boogie board looking thing........and this guy comes with a cool looking face mask, shield, gun and a backpack that has a grapnel gun!!!" (Muskrat/Alley Viper) if you see what I mean. Yeah, there are a lot of accessories with some of the POC figures but I thought that was one of the cooler things in the line. When I first picked up Wave 1 Snow Job I looked at the fig and was like "okay" but then when I saw all the gear this guy had I was stoked. "All geared up!" Joes are the best.

But they don't need more gear than they can carry. Why did Lowlight have two backpacks?

I like when every figure comes with a backpack, rifle, pistol, and one "job" specific item.

Then if someone need an extra item or two you can give it to them ore drop the pistol for the extra item.

85 was the high point for the original joes. Most guys has 3 or 4 accessories. Helmet, Gun Backpack. If the guy doesn't have a helmet give him something extra.

uh... no. all the accessories are awesome! If a guy has more gear than he can carry, then you get to choose what you want to outfit him with.. same thing with multiple backpacks or helmets.. they obviously know that a figure can only use one at a time.. but it gives us a great variety with the figures..

complaining about too many accessories is one of the oddest things I have ever heard

and I don't think cutting back on accessories would get us more figures at all.. All of Hasbro's lines put out about 5 figures per wave.

It's funny when people say just give him what he can carry. At least it's funny to me because I deployed with 2 rucks, and assault pack, 3 duffel bags, my laptop case(for work purposes only, of course), a patrol cap, a boonie cap, my helmet, my full sized body armor, my plate carrier, my NVG's, and my weapon.

Use the extra stuff to gear him up differently from what everyone else is doing. Give him some variety. Change up your display every now and then (unless you're a MOC collector, then that really doesn't matter).

I think if Hasbro thinks we don't want the extra accessories, they'll cut them down for sure. I don't think that means we'll get more figures in the line. They're already reusing molds to help cut costs and we're still only getting about 5 per wave. Like Clam said, I think that's just how Hasbro plans on doing their business for the forseeable future.

In the meantime, pass around those accessories to some of you more accessory challenged figures, and keep track of all those little Low Light bullets. I can't wait to see the eBay descriptions in about 15 years. "POC Low Light with HTF Bullet MINT!!" Buy it Now for $799.99

^^THANK YOU^^!

The only thing that would make it better is if they started including a small "foot locker" for stuff to go into. Besides, Low Light can carry everything. All his little stuff fits in his pack. Put that on his back and he can carry his rifle case in one hand and the Uzi in the other.

Here's the thing - you say include fewer accessories to get more figures. How does three or four fewer accessories per figure across the entire line equal more new figures per year? If they even added one new figure per wave, that'd be four to five new figures a year. That doesn't add up in the weight of plastic let alone tooling, etc. Furthermore, most accessories are repeats. Low Light may have more all new bits than some others, but now that they're made, we'll see them again and again. I have lately had to upsize my accessory box to store all the stuff I don't use for display, but I'd rather that than the alternative.

LOL! Still, that is pretty much what is at the root of this topic. The more accessories we have, the more there are to lose. I'm already missing a piece from the Alley Viper, and I don't even know how it could have gotten lost.

You guys do realize that you can attach the gun case to his back then the backpack to the gun case so he can carry everything. Looks pretty cool that way.

I saw the topic's name and instantly though, "Does not compute." It's an illogic statement, it's like say your Cheeseburger came with too much cheese.

Cutting down on accessiories wouldn't help us, one of the reasons toys are lmiited as it is, is packaging, how would that help that? along with the other stuff addressed by others?

I love the tons of gear and weapons for my figs, and hope hasbro keeps it up.

It doesn't make sense to me as well. I am sure the accessories are all own one plastic tree, so having too a lot of accessories does not mean it sacrifices a figure. It is easier for hasbro to reuse weapons than figures. I also remember a time when we were getting way too many figures to catch up.

I really don't see how too many accessories is a problem. If it doesn't affect the production and the figures are still coming out at a fair price (I'm gettin them for 7.92 each at Walmart, no complaints there) then why complain? I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude to the people who don't like getting too many accessories, but when you're complaining about a company giving you too many extra bonuses with the product you're buying, then it seems you're just really trying too hard to have something to gripe about.

Personally, I love the extra accessories. I have bought a million shock troopers, and with all the extra pieces I have, I can put shotguns and assault rifles into the hands of characters who came with weapons that I wasn't very impressed with.

I especially love Low-light's sniper accessories because I can set up some pretty sweet sniper dioramas with all the stuff he comes with.

If anything, I wish they would come out with more accessories, or at least accessory packs.

Remember the time when JVC was popular and people complained that the figures came with less accessories? We action figure collectors are sure fickle about things.

okay i've heard all the arguements and whoever said cutting back on accessories to get more figures wouldn't work is right cause hasbro is using the molds over and over and to better clairfy it for me is just to many small pieces to keep track of as to having more figures in a assortment i just wish they would release waves a little faster or they would start putting out army builder cases inbetween new waves of new figures.
