you want to hear a somewhat creepy but more effed up story in my old house on Johson road we had this old man for a neighbor total closet case well one night I woke up turned on my TV and on the one news program they arrested a guy who looked just like him like exactly like him right down to the hair style and the house was identical to his next day later I went in my backyard to do some gardening on his fence which seperates our two homes was real stainless steel handcuffs WTF

well there's the real world answer and the fictional world of transformers answer

real answer: Mainframe most likely put it in as a pun as the cross is used to ward of Demons like vampires and Witches

 

fictional answer: over the years on earth it is more than likely Transformers picked up human habits such as religion Taratanulas may have seen a movie about Vampires being ward off by the cross or heard stories of Demons being ward off by the sign and not nowing any better took it as reality therefore when guns didn't kill the creatures he panicked and in desperation tried to make the symbol with his fingers to no avail probably because of the fact he was making an X instead of a cross and because the Vok were aliens and immune to Religious mumbo jumbo
