At first I didn't think it was going to be good because I couldn't finish reading the comics but I thought it was ok. At the very heart it is about Superman and nothing more. I can't imagine this being on anyone's favorite list but I was surprised about how much I enjoyed it.

lol we received the comic this weekend at my store. well the tp it was. i could barely finish it. it was the most boring thing i have read in the past few years. i didn't even know what story they wanted to tell. ok superman is dying and so on and on, on and in the end he fights lex and done. nothing realy great. 20 different superman's from i dont know what universe or timeline. it seemed like everyone has a timemachine in the future. then we are on bizzaro world and a mix of i dont know how to call it. i dont realy liked it. i will buy the blu-ray anyway because i love everything dc does with these movies and series. even if i dont liked the comic i support dc with it because they do great stuff.

It by far isn't a great movie and yes I couldn't finish reading the comic, thought everything about it was terrible. One of the things I liked in the movie was when Lex had Superman's powers and saw the universe from Superman's perspective. That was a pretty neat scene which ties into what motivates Superman, they actually were bold enough to put God into the mix, something that almost everyone shy's away from. The voice acting is terrible but it has some beautiful moments. I like Superman and I like what he stands for, the movie provides some brief moments of the motivation behind it. I still like it over the anime Batman movie Gotham Knights and DC Frontiers.

My wife and I loved it. The issue it will have with most people is that it is more a drama than a comic movie. Everyone talks about how slow it is, but honestly I think the development worked wonderfully and appeals to a much wider audience than a punch them in the face movie like the superman/batman movies.

Because that wider audience isn't expecting anyone to get punched in the face in a Superman/ Batman movie?

"Gee. I sure hope Superman and Batman spend this movie talking to each other for a change."

Another fantastic movie. Definitely a different flavor. Rather liked it due to it's style and pace. That last Superman/Batman movie was way over the top in fight sequences. I enjoyed the dvd extras featuring interviews with Grant Morrison. It's nice how he mentions Joseph Campbell as an influence in the comicbook. Now it's time to re-read the original story again.
