What do you think are the saddest moments in tv history?

I hear a lot of people say they think few of the saddest are when Dr. Greene died on ER, when Col. Henry Drake died on MASH, and Jurassic Back on Futurama where the dog just waited.

I found two of the saddest to be when Edith died on All in the Family and the final episode of Quantum Leap.

Your choices???

Henry Blake not Drake :P

The final episode of Quantum Leap was horrible and a very stupid idea

I personally cannot remember ever getting sad about a show ..I just thought some shows turned sad and jumped the shark

sheesh.. I don't know.. but I have seen plenty of them.

The saddest moment I can remember from a sitcom was just a few weeks ago when Marshal's dad died on "How I Met Your Mother."

some other sad moments off the top of my head:

Lost - when Boone dies in season 1.

24 - When Jack Bauer's wife is murdered right in front of him.

That was the countdown episode wherein the background and everywhere else the placed number from 50 going down to number one before the end when he found out his father died

I don't find that episode of Futurama sad any more. Not since they had the movies and ruined it.

I'm not one for modern Tv shows. In fact I haven't had cable for over 10 years now. I watch games at Hooters from time to time, but unless these shows are available on DVD or posted on the net, I'm not familiar with most shows.

However, the FIRST show that made me feel total heartbreak was Star Trek's City on the Edge of Forever.

Most TV programs today are fake "reality" TV shows and for most of those, I just want everyone on them to DIE! Too hard to get all choked up over the death of a$$holes and b!tches and other worthless walks of life, but if we are allowed to include a few MOVIE scenes, this one from CLICK gets me...

If you can include movies, then......

Spock's funeral-Wrath of Khan.

Iron Giant--"Suuupermaaaannn"

Forrest Gump--when Jenny dies.

Old Yeller.

Ya, those both tug at my heart too...especially Click. The entire ending of that movie is a tear jerker.

Another movie that makes me sad is Marley and Me...and Old Yeller...and Where the Red Fern grows...for some reason, movies where dogs die make me sadder than movies with humans dying. @lol@
