Aang, Momo, & Appa

This is my first attempt at sculpting from scratch. I borrowed the entire Avatar series from a guy at work who thought I would enjoy it. Needless to say he was right. I loved the anime series, but in particular, I really liked the character Appa. What could be cooler than a flying bison with six legs and a beaver tail! I was inspired to make one of my own. Appa started as a ball of tinfoil that I formed into his basic shape then covered with various layers of apoxie sculpt until it came to be.

Appa weighs a hefty 6 pounds, is roughly 15 inches long, and 9 inches high. He is a beast in every sense of the word.

Aang and Momo were modifications of the movie version action figure. I resculpted Aang's gi to look more like the shaw he wears in the anime series, then repainted both him and Momo their anime colors.
