Ha, this title easily goes to me. Hold your applause...lol

Seriously, it all goes back to when I was about 4 and they aired the Superman movie on ABC. I remember thinking that he was real and just the entire experience rocked my entire world. Of course from there I fell in love with all the other characters. Super Powers were my favorite toys as a kid and when I either lost or broke them I would beg for 75 cents to get comics from the corner store only to cut out the characters and play with the paper cut out....THAT IS DIE HARD, I never did that for any other characters other than DC, mainly Superman but the others as well. DC has just been my steady diet of superhero stuff since. I slipped a little during the X-Men faze but that didn't last long plus during that time I still bough old issues of DC Comics presents. I buy figures from every toyline they have even the kiddie ones. As an adult and a Christian DC is just better for me, their superheroes are ideal, they have human flaws but they are just the best of what they are and represent. I love DC man, DC speaks to my soul.

Seriously if heroes were real who would you rather have protecting your city,

Superman or Spiderman?

The Justice League or the Avengers?

Superman and the Justice League please......!!

no, for real now. i just began reading dc comics with blackest night. i always knew the characters and such. i always watched the tv shows. tim burtons batman was my first movie i watched in theaters. in germany and france comics werent realy a common thing back in the days. we had some pocketbooks of conan and spiderman, hulk, thor and i guess that was about it. comics were a common thing once superman came back from the dead and had his long hair. thats why i love conduit so much. once a guy got some comics in english and i got them all. they were all about spiderman so i need them. a week after the guy got even more and once again i got them all. then the guy made a buissness for himself and did it more professionaly. now he sold me 40% of his store and i am a co-owner of a comic shop and i work in it. all this in 15 years. awesome. i must say that with dcuc i began to know more and more about the characters in the dc universe. not just supes and batman. i love comics and i have like 30 abo's of dc comics. from green lantern to flash to batman to brightest day and so on. as a kid i was a real marvel guy but now being older, i become the more and more a dc guy. i love both companys. it depends on what i wanna read at the moment i guess.

I can respect that. The problem with DC is that it still has the played out rap about not being modern or having realistic characters. That may of been true at one point but it hasn't been like that for such a long time. The ironic thing is that Marvel suffers under the weight it its own stigma, they have to make everyone be whacked out in some way. The drama is Marvel comics is so overblown and absurd which is why I stopped reading.....X-Men and FF are worse than any soap opera on today, and I mean that, those books don't read good, they read like a soap opera. DC just reached for higher plains, seriously sometimes people don't need to have mental disorders to be down to earth, I know a couple of decent people in my life who aren't whacked...not perfect but not Marvel's extent of whackness.

My earliest DC "fandom" goes back to watching the old SuperFriends cartoon and the old 'New Adventures of Batman'. I saw the original Superman film and had a few scattered DC comics, Superman, Flash etc.

I began collecting DC comics in earnest following the Burton Batman film. Primarily Batman and New Teen Titans but spreading out to Superman, JLA, Hawk&Dove and most of the core characters. I stopped collecting comics in the mid 90s but restarted in 2003 and am now trying to catch up on all the back issues between then and now. I estimate I have over 10,000 DC comics(I have over 30k total).

I never collected the vintage SuperPowers line or hardly any of the toylines since, but I collect the DCUC line completely (aside from the UltraMan/Luthor 2pack) and most of the DCSH line (missing a few HTF later figs like Cassie Cain).

I've also picked up the occasional DC item. I have Limited Edition Superman statue. Only a few hundred were ever produced. I have some of those nice DK coffee table books and all the good DC movies on DVD (sorry Catwoman and Steel) including the vey cool Superman boxset in the Steel Case. I also have most of the cartoons on DVD. Not all, but most.

I don't know if I can lay claim to Ultimate DC fan,(SP1980 likes 'em so much he made it his username!) but I bet I'm on the medal podium.

I give all of you manly 'good game' asspats for being such big DC fans. ;)

asspats or asshats?

Assuming asspats since he threw in 'good game'. And nothing goes along with good game like a good asspat.

All that aside, apart from Batman and his family and the Justice League - my DC nerdom pales in comparison to my Marvel-geekiness. I still like the DCU, but the characters I typically seem drawn towards seem more prevalent in the Marvel U. I like the lower power class fisticuffs and some sword play and grittiness thrown in for good measure.

Of course I do fully understand this is due to my growing up reading comics in the 90's. Funny enough, however, is my little brother finally coming to the comic side like his older bro. I'm ten years his senior and he has just within the past 6 months hopped on the bandwagon and it seems he steers more to the DC side of it all.

i'm the biggest dc fan because i tell the truth.

marvel > dc

No, you most certainly do not tell the truth, especially since you made that absurd claim that Marvel is greater than DC. DC has always been slated at a higher standard than Marvel. Marvel is the whinny man's comic, the "I am a loser at heart and need to see people who can't adjust properly in life" comic. Like I said who would you rather having fighting for you, Captain America or Superman, the JLA or the Avengers?

Why am I the biggest DC fan? I have a few pictures to point you in the right direction:

Good pics man, love the costumes. Your a first rate fan but I am still the biggest DC fan. You have to go to bat for them here on the forums to have the title and I most certainly do, let my negative show....lol

you're the one whining dude. and as to adjusting to life properly, well, i'm not the one talking about which character is better as some sort of evidence as to who's the biggest dc fan. sorry you can't accept the truth, but i'm the biggest dc fan.
