With the prolouge coming out in March 2011 it's another event that will apparently shake the Marvel Universe forever. Marvel just released the press conference which can be found on there website or click here:

Whenever I hear the pitch that some new storyline is going to change what I know FOREVER, I get the feeling something dumb is about to happen.

 

I'm down to two Marvel books, Thunderbolts and X-Factor. As long as those make it out relatively unscathed, I'll be happy.

Possible bad guys behind this storyline would likely be either Phobos (Ares' son), the Fear Lords (e.g. Nightmare and other demons like him), or maybe even Psycho-Man.

I should have put apparently in "" lol. I feel the same way when they say a story arc is gonna change the Marvel World forever. I feel the only recent storyline that has done that is Civil War

i love spiderman since i was a kid. he will always be my favorite hero. i have to check too since when i got amazing spiderman. it must be like you around 10-12 years now. i dont realy like the new way they are going. specialy the ganthet was crappy for me. i loved the rhino story do. they take away the human side of those villains and make monsters out of them and thats sad in a way. did kraven and harry realy need to come back? i dont know, they ruined the classic tales from the past with kravens last hunt and harrys death. i am glad that they are back but at the same time i hate it. flash in a wheelchair was a good idea and i hope to see more of him in the comics. what annoys me the most right now is who is his new girlfriend???????????? who gives a #$##?????? since harry is back, they could have bring gwen back too if you ask me. mary jane was perfect and they let her go. he should date black cat and he would have no more trouble with keeping his identity secret. no, good old pete dates a nerdy cop or whatever she is suppose to be. ya well i continue in hope for better times. i like the new hobgoblin story for now and that peter goes back to science and stuff is also great. we'll see where this will lead him.

i totaly understand that you dropped x-men. i have a lot of uncanny x-men and x-men legacy comics and i dont know how manny i had to buy just to get the whole storys. then when you finaly have a team, you care about they change it in a sec. its like they change teams every 5 months. thats why i stopped with the x-men too. recently i started the new x-men comics with the vampires and all that. it is interesting but when i checked the preview of this month i guess, i saw that dracula is a member of the group??? at least on the cover he fights alongside the x-men. thats not how i see dracula. maybe i will cancel this one allready. lol.

The new Hobgoblin arc in Amazing is really good... looks like now that Brand New Day is over it is going in an "adult" direction...

Regarding recent Spider-Man stories, I really enjoyed Grim Hunt, I absolutely loathed OMIT and its retconning assery, and I'm enjoying the current quirky lighthearted 'Big Time' arc.

Vampires in X-Men....uuuggghhh! Wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole! That's actually not the reason I droped it, though. It was because Uncanny, X-Men, and Astonishing are now all $4. Forget it. I actually enjoyed the last big crossover, Second Coming, and thought that would be a good place to jump off, after that ended. You are right about them changing up the teams. It just turns into one big mess after a while.

 

Anyway, I have a complete run of Chris Claremont Uncanny and there's a stretch of issues from about 150-266 that I have not even read yet. I'll just be working on those.
