How does someone like Romo get more guaranteed money than someone like Flacco? Last time I checked Romo doesn't have any Super Bowl rings.

Or a playoff win.:-)

Romo still sucks and the cowboys are going to be the joke of the league until they get rid of Romo.

I still laugh at the money they gave Flacco. Halfway through last season, Ravens fans were screaming to get rid of him. It's great he got them a ring, but now his contract has crippled their ability to sign other players and might for years to come.

The Romo contract doesn't make any sense either. He has great regular season stats, but that doesn't help them win a single playoff game. In the age of the hard salary cap, it doesn't make sense to pay one player over a sixth of the team's total payroll.

I think Romo is alot better than Flacco. A LOT better.

Flacco got the worst contract in NFL history... from the Raven's POV

I don't understand the Jets thinking. They dump Revis and take a gamble on a rookie CB,then draft yet another QB with their next pick. I'm glad I'm not a fan of theirs. I think I'd be pulling my hair out. @loll@

it's not hard to figure out the Revis/Milliner situation. Revis was going to be too expensive. He is getting 16M per year! way too much. They didn't want to pay him that. So they picked up the best CB in the draft and will have to pay him just a fraction of that. Plus Revis is coming off of an injury. So I think they did well on that part.

The pick of Geno Smith is good too.. except for they already have to pay Sanchez. But they do seem to need a QB pretty badly

I think the Jets had a good draft. Revis was going to be too much, he is getting older and coming off a major injury (not to mention his previous hold out) so they got the top corner in the draft. Then Geno sitting there in the second...why not? Obviously Sanchez isn't panning out and you get the opportunity to land a 1st round QB in the 2nd? Sure.

I still think DJ Hayden is better...

poor Raiders.. how does it feel to know that your team won't be any good for at least 4 more years? @loll@

You tell me. Haha

hey, I said "any" good.

I am always confident that the Bears will be JUST good enough to disappoint.

I am not sure which is worse.. knowing there is no chance, or getting your hopes up every year.. only to be crushed once again

Haha. True. Yeah at least now there's a reason to be bad. But with the old bad contracts clearing out at least there's hope for the future!

The Governor of my state actually suggested that the reason my Vikings cut their punter was because of his outspokenness on gay marriage. The guy was 17th in the league, the Vikes just drafted a younger guy for less money. It was nothing more that a football move that happens in the league all the time. But this guy wants to make it about politics. SHUT UP AND DO YOUR JOB, GOV!!!

Sorry, just had to rant there.

Well my team just picked up your teams ex punter. He'll never be able to replace Lechler (really sad to see him go) but at least I agree with his politics! We also got Charles Woodson back. Glad to see him back in silver and black. The outpouring of fans helped sway him.

Too bad about Crabtree SF...I won't be a douche and make a joke about someone getting hurt. It sucks even though I hate SF.

Urlacher retired. sad day for the Bears. I wish he would have accepted their offer, but his pride got in the way. He saw that there wasn't any big money contracts out there, so he retired instead.

oh well, at least he didn't go play for the Raiders like Woodson. sheesh man, poor Woodson!

That should tell you something when he'd rather retire than play for the Bears...

he thought 2 million bucks was too low. The Bears thought it was a fair price considering that he hasn't been healthy, and they didn't have any cap space to pay him more money. He should have accepted the offer if he wanted to keep playing.

He thought that it was disrespectful so he went out to get a bigger contract. I already knew that nobody would offer him a big contract.. meanwhile the Bears signed 2 LBs and drafted 2 more.. so there was no way he could come back.

so instead of getting another small contract to play for a different team for another year, he just decided to hang it up... which was the right decision at this time.

Woodson should have taken an lesser contract for a team that actually matters this season instead of signing for the Raiders for what? a million bucks?

5 million. Denver offered him a deal but when he went to Oakland a bunch of fans got together to greet him and swayed him. He started out in silver and black and he'll go out in silver and black.

5 million for 1 year?

and if Denver offered him a contract, why wouldn't he take it? doesn't make any sense to me

Yup $5 mill 1 year. I think because Denver offered less and despite wanting a championship he probably realizes his days are numbered and 5 mill is a nice way to go out.

wow, that is alot of money.. I know I heard teams were offering Ed Reed something like 2 or 3.

I think the Raiders overpaid for him knowing that he is a fan favorite and will put some butts in the seats.

Still, I can't think that Denver's offer was so bad that Woodson would choose the Raiders. I know he is PISSED that Green Bay didn't bring him back. He said he never thought he would leave, and now he will enter the Hall of Fame as a Raider
