DC Comics now owns Wildstorm and therefore the Wildcats, Gen 13 Autorithy among others, which YOU think we should draw as figures for the DC Universe Classic series?

Honestly they would have to be done at a top top level. I don't love the characters as much as I love DC characters so I'd only get them if they were really well done....they couldn't do them half assed like sometimes happens with the DC Universe Classics figures or I'd pass on them.

I'm not knocking DCUC, but for every truly awesome DCUC figure there are 3 or 4 kind of meh figures. Not from a character stand point, but from an execution stand point. Stuff like painted on suits instead of sculpted details, bodies that are too big for the character, repaints to existing molds that don't match up properly to what the character should look like. Stuff like that are a bit of a downer, I accept them because I love the characters dearly, but if that was done with the Wildcats it wouldn't hesitate to pass on them.

I would love a Grifter, or Zealot figure, but I thought it was mentioned before they had no plans to use them.

also once said they would never figure of Lobo, out as too violent and we saw what happened.

I think before we see a figure of the Wildstorm universe (or Milestone) Mattel and DC will have exhausted its options best figures of the DC universe, and they have got the one million version of Batman then consider its other publishing companies.

I personally think it would be a shame that the only figures in that world have been those made by McFarlane Toys and DC Direct.

Id be cool with it if they were done as a side series like the new GL series, or a box set like the legion. That way I could pass them up and fans of wildstorm could get their fix. Now if they started putting them in normal waves mixed with DC figs, that would make me think about just dropping the line. Its bad enough I have a million Batman and Supes, I dont want to buy anything from wildstorm (I buy complete sets online, so no picking and choosing for me).

I believe they actually said he as well the Vertigo stuff would not be made for the retail line as they were too violent, so maybe a Comic Con exclusive.

Actually, Vertigo stuff is coming back to the dc universe I heard, so it's fair game once it's back in the DC Universe proper. In other news, I'm gonna work on a custom of the High from some spare/crappy DCUC figures I have laying around. This will be my first custom, but I hope to make all of Wildstorm's big 3. Any advice would be appreciated. I've already looked on a few sites with tutorials for tips on what materials I should buy before I begin. Does anyone know where I can view a tutorial on how to make cool cloth capes?

Finally, I think all of these Wildstorm characters would make good choices for DCUC figures, as they are either classic characters, or have an appealing look that would prevent them from being peg warmers.

Grifter

Spartan

Warblade

Maul (could be a BAF)

Zealot

Voodoo

Mr Majestic

The High

Maximum Man

Dane from Wetworks

Helspont

Midnighter

Apollo

Deathblow

Backlash

Caitlin Fairchild

Grunge

Burnout

Rainmaker

It would be great if they did a boxset or 2, I think. It's not like DC direct is doing jack or #$## with the characters.

Please...NO!

Hate all that 90's IMAGE crap, hate WildStorm, and can't stand Jim Lee, either (his art, that is...)

The DC in DCUC stands for...Well, darnit, it stands for DC!!!

You must not have much knowledge of the subject matter. DC comics has pumped out crap in exponential excess of anything crappy Image, Wildstorm, and Jim Lee have released combined. Wildstorm also had some really great stories with great characters (both homages and original creations) that warrant a modern figure. Also, Jim Lee's art doesn't have a thing to do with the figures, since the DCUC figures are not artist specific.

If Sleeper had a DC comics symbol instead of a Wildstorm one, would it cease to be crap? What about Alan Moore's Wildcats, or Warren Ellis' Stormwatch and Authority, or hell even the recent stuff by Christos Gage for that matter? If people can stomach the volumes and volumes of DC crossover crap that Geoff Johns and Grant Morrison are churning out 6 months at a time, why can't they give a universe that had actually made some progression a chance?

I'd go for that.

I agree with the jim lee classic team for sure. Classic stormwatch team would be nice too. The best would have to be a Backlash!!!

Oooohhh! I touched a nerve in an IMAGE fan!

Let me repeat:

90's IMAGE = CRAP. All of it.

WildStorm = CRAP.

Jim Lee = epitome of 90's comic artist = all style, no substance = does NOT really know how to draw = CRAP.

Wildcats = SUPER-CRAP.

Warren Ellis = Unbelievably over-rated CRAP. Shock does NOT equal quality. In fact, it is usually the lowest common denominator of storytelling.

Alan Moore = Curmudgeon who stopped having anything truly interesting to say with "League of Extraordinary Gentleman", and now spends his time making illustrated kiddy-porn of famous Fairy Tales and passing it off as high-art.

THE AUTHORITY = gay CRAP.

...Whew! Glad I got that off of my chest.
