wave 14 and Wal-Mart

I was thrilled to find some hint of Wave 14 at my closest Walmart (which isn't even that close). I was ready to purchase the three Wave 14 figures they had, until I started wondering why the packaging looked kinda beat up. Turns out someone had removed the CnC parts, carefully sealed the packaging, and returned them to Walmart. It also explains why the packaging felt so light. :(

I finally found some of Wave 14 at the nearest Walmart today, so I got them. They had everybody but Gold and Todd Rice. The had plain rice, brown rice, and wild rice in the grocery section but no Todd Rice in the toy section. I don't even want to know why they had everybody but Gold and Todd Rice.

Kamandi and Ultra Humanite are a lot cooler looking in person than I thought they were going to be. Tyr has a great looking head sculpt. Zatanna looks good but could have been engineered better. My Alan Scott's right leg is stuck at the hip, and Rex's right thigh is stuck and there's a big gap in the left one.

hehehe, i love rice!

I hate crooks like these....either they take the CnC part or they open the package and replace it with some knock-off figure. these f**kers need to be castrated!

What makes it worse is that this wave is not easily accessible to all people. Some Walmarts get one shot/one case and for this to happen is a true stab in the face. Also who is the loser who goes through so much trouble for this type of stuff anyway, seriously it can't be that bad. This happened to me years ago. I bought a Tito Santana Jakks figure and didn't realize until I got home that someone used an exacto knife and cut a small square out the front to get the belt that came with the figure.

Found Hourman last week. I picked up Kamandi and Alan Scott this week!!! So just need 4 more!! So glad they reduced the figures to 6 per wave!!!

How many figures come per case???

Oh, and I still don't want Kamandi or Obsidian. Anyone just wanting the figures, let me know!!!

10 LJ. Most cases are 2 Alan's, 2 Kamadi's, 2 Z's, 1 of everone else. Some have 2 Hourman's instead of Kamandi. How can you not want Mr Rice and K man?!?! @loll@ Those are my two fav from the wave! @smilepunch@

And Harry I think I may know where some Golds and Rice's are if you still need em! LMK!

Obsidian really is a far nicer figure than he has any right to be. It's a backwards world when I'm disappointed by the Hourman figure and pleased by the Obsidian.

A second Wal-Mart near me has been flooded with Wave 14. At least 3 cases, maybe more, are on the shelf. The offer is still open if anybody needs them.

Just got my Alan Scott from ebay. Every figure from this wave that i've wanted, i've been able to get b/n 10-15 shipped on ebay. Hopefully I will continue to have this kind of success. I really don't have the time or money to run around to stores and then pay the full price.

Good thing i'm not so interested in wave 16 and 17.

hey guys, i have a question about wave 14's Tyr figure.

just how poseable is that robotic arm of his?

It has the same points of articulation as any other DCUC arm (minus the new ones, like BL Abin Sur who have extra wrist articulation).

The range of motion at the shoulder is excellent; in fact, thanks to the design, he can actually hold his arm in a little more snugly than most other figures.

The joint above his bicep has a full 360 spin.

The elbow suffers a little; whereas most figures have about 90 degrees of mobility at the elbow from a fully extended position, he has slightly less (maybe 75 degrees). He has about the same, or slightly more, range as the new Manhunter robot figure.

The wrist joint also has a (completely pointless) 360 spin.
