LOL really? Superman's costume cooler????? Timeless???? LMAO denial, anyone??

Cooler is of course debatable, but you can't argue that Superman's look has not stood the test of time. He's virtually unchanged over 75 years. Thor and Cap also have changed little over the years. Yes, they both have had many looks that were different, like right now, but they always seem to go back to the Kirby original eventually.

If they want the movie to be as timeless as the character, then they should stick closer to the iconic costumes. You can still watch Superman from 1978 and it looks great.

to be fair are they have been some changes (red/blue) but they haven't lasted.

supe's custom simply is ineffecient for today's tec to hide his identity.

If these were in 6 inch I would buy the Thor and Odin figure. The worst part of Hasblow is there overwhelming need to have the under-the-breast swivel which is terrible. It should be at the waste, not the middle of the friggin torso. For all those who think Captain America should retain his original costume comes from a certain place past delusional. If they made his costume directly from the original material, the only tickets sold would be the ones who want the costume, it wouldn't appeal to anyone else. The Ultimates update was good, and yes better than the design they went with but I cannot fathom those who want his original dorky outfit. It looks ridiculous on screen, looked stupid in the original movies, like a clow fighting crime.....stupid.

Rightttt Like the Superman costume is the epitomy of cool, sure Captain America's costume may not look cool in the movie they should change it, he should be called Super Soldier wear red underwear over blue tights and have a big dumb "S" in his chest that would look cool in the big screen.

First off, Superman wears trunks not underwear. They are trunks that the old boxers wore back in the 1930's and like how wrestlers wear.

Secondly, certain costumes just work better over time. Superman's costume is a lot more timeless than Captain dork America. Superman works and is overall cooler than Captain America, he doesn't work, he is dated and he only works in the toons and the comics....and even then hardly. That is why everything Superman outsells everything Captain dorky crap America.

Yes what is there denial about like that. Superman's costume is the one that defines the genre. When someone mimics a superhero its usually in the fashion of Superman's costume and in his colors....Captain America hasn't defined !@#$. Superman's costume is timeless, if you compare the 1978 Superman movie and any of the other Captain America movies, Superman never looks stupid, but Captain America ALWAYS LOOKS CHEESY. His classic outfit doesn't work for cinema, I personally like the Ultimates version.

the original , maybe. But throwing a weird logo off his chest? But times change, Looking back he does look silly and increasingly so. Part of the problem is that it is so iconic. It symbolizes the old way of making a super-hero. It's stuck int he past, unpractical and too flashy.

If you give him short gloves, and ditch the under-wear put kept the colors, that would go a long way.

Superpowers1980, is it anywhere within your capacity to write an intelligent reply without insulting millions of people? I mean, really. Every post from you is condescending and insulting. You just called every Capt. America fan in the world delusional! And people claim I stir things up? Sheesh!

If they made his costume directly from the original material, the only tickets sold would be the ones who want the costume, it wouldn't appeal to anyone else.

Right. Because, as usual, you've done the intensive market research to back your claim.

And Superman wearing tights with the same colors isn't ridiculous, is that it? Or a guy dressing up as a bat? But you're surely not biased!

So let me get this straight. Superman wears trunks, but the characters you don't like wear underwear? Is that basically how you categorize it?

Secondly, certain costumes just work better over time. Superman's costume is a lot more timeless than Captain dork America.

Timeless? Really? Because you do know, Cap's costume is derived from a flag that predates Superman's costume by well over 100 years.

Superman works and is overall cooler than Captain America, he doesn't work, he is dated and he only works in the toons and the comics....and even then hardly. That is why everything Superman outsells everything Captain dorky crap America.

No, it's because Superman's been around longer and has been far more heavily marketed and promoted, that's why. Cap got his own comic, and he appeared in the Avengers. Superman starred in Action Comics, Adventure Comics, World's Finest, Superman, Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane, Justice League of America, Superman Family, Superboy and the LSH, Superfriends, and so on and so forth. And he guest starred in pretty much every DC title ever made (New Gods, Black Lightning, Batman, Detective Comics, Flash, etc). They marketed him to death.

Superman's costume is the one that defines the genre.

Really? How so?

Captain America hasn't defined !@#$. Superman's costume is timeless,

Timeless because you say it's so? Cap's costume has remained the same for about 70 years now. He was among the first wave of Superheroes in the first 3 years of comic book characters. I'd say that's about as timeless as it gets. Cap's costume has for the most part remained unchanged as long as Superman's has. It's every bit as iconic. People in countries around the world recognize Capt. America.

if you compare the 1978 Superman movie and any of the other Captain America movies, Superman never looks stupid, but Captain America ALWAYS LOOKS CHEESY. His classic outfit doesn't work for cinema

That's a completely skewed analysis and an unfair comparison. You can't compare a big budget, major Hollywood production with cheap tv movies and low budget nonsense. It's like comparing hubcaps and lightbulbs. Had they done a Cap movie with Superman's budget, the costume would look fine.

Just admit you hate Marvel and stop pretending to analyze these things.

I'm not seeing a MAJOR difference between movie Cap and Ultimate Cap. And that costume wasn't poo-pooed nearly as much as this one.

Here is a major one: the "mask" and helmet are seperate peices and colors. That really helps!

Also: the blue and red are brighter, especially the red.

The texture on the shoulders on the sides of the straps are distracting. If they were going for the chain mail look, why not the whole torso?
