Really have to see at least a trailer to know how the costume renders. Right now I can't really judge it from a magazine cover pic. It might as well be a Photoshop version.

I am not impressed so far, but I am not horrified by it either.

I have no idea why they would need to change Hal's classic costume. It is already perfect and doesn't need any update.

Ryan Reynold's costume really needs some white gloves and black in with the green. Also, the glowing lines are a bit weird coming from the symbol.

But hey, its TONS better than Marvel's upcoming Thor and Captain America Costume. And for that matter all of their movies except for Spiderman and Ironman.

I didn't mind the CGI when I first heard they were using it for the costume since the GL costume is a construct but I'm not sure now with this pic, like many of you have mentioned it needs black and maybe some white not all green it's gonna look weird. Plus the lines doesn't help it looks like a Green Lantern "Bodies the exhibition".

I read the article. Not even a mention of Mark Strong as Sinestro.

In fact they made it sound like Hector Hammond will be the main villain.

That makes sense for Hammond to be the villain in this movie and build the bond between Jordan and Sinestro before Sin goes yellow in the sequel (and how can there NOT be a sequel already in the works)

The mask look painted on which is a no-no, otherwise I'm not seeing enough for me to say I love it or hate it.

People love to skoff at innitial images of re-imagined movie costumes and looks and say, "That's not MY _______ ". I'll never forget the reaction to first images of Megatron, Bumblebee, etc....fanboys literally had their pitch forks out! By the time they actually SAW the movie, they were fine. GL, Cap, Thor, these are all going to be repeats of that.

I am going to have to disagree with you about the Transformers. The movie versions suck, and the movies suck. TF2 is probably the worst movie I have EVER seen.

Cap and Thor look like garbage. And I don't have very high hopes for those films. Just like when the first pics of DD/Bullseye showed up, or Absorbingman, or Dr.Doom, or Green Goblin... none of those worked out.

but I have a feeling that GL will work out fine in the end. DC has much more respect for their properties than Marvel does.

The difference here is this stands the chance of being good.

Transformers needs a franchise reboot in competent hands. The Bayformers were hideous in the concept art, they were hideous in that boring haul of a movie, and it's only going to get worse.

The costume looks too CG to me, hard to tell what is real and what is an enhancement.

Thats because the entire costume is CGI. This is what Reynolds is actually wearing reynolds-gl.jpg

motion suit = FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!

heheh, that lil dog in the pic cracks me up!

To add what Momentum have said, it is implied that Sinestro will be protrayed as Hal's instructor in this film, which is accurate to the comics. My guess is that Sinestro will probably show his true colors at the end of the film similar to how Harry Osborn becomes the new goblin near the end of spiderman 2.
