Foreign figures and unproduced figures!

What're the chances of seeing some of the foreign figures that were never released in the states?? Specifically the then newly created El Capitan Rayo y El Hombre de las Nieves!! I know both are "fake" characters created solely for the foreign toy market, but so were a few others that were released only in the American toy line and are again seeing the light of day in the DCUC line!! So what are the chances, perhaps as an exclusive??

 

What about unproduced figures?? Are there any left that have yet to be made in the DCUC line???

Of course I am a huge Super Powers fan so that is right up my alley, I sure hope it would be possible. I know I would flip out if it were to ever come down the line.

Funny if you look at the middle pic of Superpowers where they show the back with the names. They call Wonder Woman, Robin. How funny is that.

I'm ok with DCUC paying homage to and including character versions that were actually in Super Powers, but let's not forget that DCUC's sole function is not as as tribute line to SP. DCUC is a line that's supposed to encompass the whole DC comic book universe.

 

Why should Mattel waste an action figure slot on a character that has never even graced a DC comic page?

 

Secondly keeping the above in mind, do you think that DC Comics (you know, the company who's characters are licensed by Mattel and who has final approval on all Mattel DCUC action figures) actually would want this? The answer is no. No, they wouldn't want to glorify nor bring attention to a character that used the hype of one of their old toy properties to generate profit of which they never saw a dime of.

 

Surely anyone that has a history of reading DC comics could easily think of years worth of characters that should see plastic form sooner.

I never said this line was solely meant as a Super Powers homage line. But it is obvious that they, being the Horsemen, loved the line as kids like we did!! As long as you're ok with allowing them to release Super Powers figures, ya keep the Horsemen happy!!

Hasbro did this with GI JOE, they released figures that were originally created in foreign markets!! They know collectors value these foreign releases sometimes on equal footing as their American counterparts!! This is after all a collector oriented line, hence the over-priced figures!! So those of us who have collected toys since we were kids can see a value in releasing figures that only saw a foregn release originally!! Like we can finally have figures that we never got as kids, but wanted ever since toys became collectible and we found out they were made!! But the opportunity should be there, even if on mattycollector.com!!!

It's just a fun idea. Don't be a spoil sport, its just wishful thinking. We all understand the proper parameters with the DC/Mattel deal however as a homage to the SP's line it just would be an extra bonus for those who are into the SP's line. Also some may want the characters just based off the look, I know I bought my fair share of Legendary Heroes because the character looks good and/or cool. Granted many/most know nothing of Captain Ray and how he fits into the SP's line but then consider some characters that are a part of the DC UNIVERSE. people complain about those as well..."why are we getting this one, why are we getting that one"...people complain about characters who are apart of the universe. I just think it would be nice and not that much of a stretch to make the character. Also for a bootleg character, try catching one on ebay and watch the price skyrocket, these bootlegs are worth more than the actual real SP's line, including the coveted Cyborg!

no they dont, if you count the figure, she is the 8th, if count down the list the 8th name is muller maravilla which is wonder woman in spanish. the robin name would go with the white square thats blank.

I have never even seen those pictures, that just made my whole day! Thank you so much for posting them. This is a good topic to debate on. I would love to see a few of those figures get some sort of a tribute figure in an exclusive type form.

Yeah thanks SuperPowers I would have postedvtjem when I started the thread but I can't on an iPhone!!

 

Glad to see others who would enjoy some figures of characters that were created for the foregn market!!! Hasbro recognized this and released several outstanding figures that originally were only available outside the US!! Now GI JOE is an In house brand, but I seriously doubt DC would mind if it were released as an exclusive!!! I would get them!!

Why is it nonsense? I'd rather have a Captain Ray (made up) over a stupid Kamandi (real character) figure any day. Here it is, one simple character in a line up of 6 or 7 figures per wave, about 5 to 6 waves a year. I'd spend less time worried about the slot a Captain Ray figure would occupy as opposed to the seemingly stupid variants they have given us. Simple head swaps is what we should have, not a whole variant figure, especially at the cost of 16.00 a figure.

Bootlegs are more powerful than the laws and restrictions placed on American companies, they have the power to create toys on various existing properties, pay no fees, and to use cheap plastics...YEAH!!!
