I like the more military look of having the pants tucked in at the top of the boots, otherwise, they look like a street gang in baggies.

Yeah, see? That's a terrible look. Loose pants all the way down? Are those knee pads or patches? Without the blousing, how do they keep their pant cuffs from snagging on brush or dirt and mud/water from getting into their boots or WORSE, creepy crawlies from getting up their leg?

 

I think blosuing was done for a reason and military people know what the is more than any other. Not a proper look here. Sloopy.

GI Joe isn't supposed to be all lame military selling just to redneck hillbilles. I'm sure they made a conscience choice to have it look like that. This is GI Joe. Their main soldier is a ninja not some pos who can sponge being yelled at all day long. Hasbro knows who their demo is.

The proportions look wonky, but that doesn't mean it won't be good. I still have high hopes for this...

the main thing is they need to make damn sure when they design the toyline for this that they do not copy the animation style for the figures.

 

 

like how sigma sux figures looked just like the cartoon... don't do that again.

XD as much as bitchy fanboys will #@$#@ about it, it doesn't matter what they think as long as its a hit with kids and fans who are excited for a NEW tv series. i'm excited. because the design reminds me of HELLBOY ANIMATED. (i own both dvd's) i love the fact that its sleek in style.

 

:3 i hope hasbro will make animatedish style figures. that would rock so hard. then again hasbro did say the first wave of figures will be POC then the 2ed wave is will figures for gijoe renagade - here's hoping for animated style GIJOES!

 

i love it, i'm gonna support it, i hope to get the hub so i can watch it, remember, even tf animated was well written. and if its well written, then its a hit.

Well that's all wonderful and very swell of you to be so positive and all, but no need to throw others under the bus of being "bitchy fanboys" because we have individual critiques of such minor things as style. It's merely fodder for discussion and nothing more. There's equally no need to run up and down the Joe boards with a bucket of ice water, for each and every small fire/complaint about toys and cartoons. If we have (as you say) very little impact on what Hasbro is producing, by way of toy or cartoon, and it's the children that will determine it's overall success, then I fail to see where any of us adults, making such minor critiques, is all that big a deal...right?

All I've ever cared about are the actions figures. The cartoons only serve to grab the attention of the kids, so however Hasbro thinks they need to go about doing that is fine by me, because it only means that more action figures are coming and that's where my enthusiasm still lies. Only PROBLEM with all of that, might be in style, and just like with the movie line, it can be boring and bland (for some fans) and then even the action figures fail to live up to expectations, and I'm left still longing for cool G.I.Joe action figures.

So what are you sure Duke isn't there main guy? what do you mean by main guy anyways? if your talking on the old toyline or toon it was Duke, but Se was a big presence in the toyline (almost absent from the toon.) Comics? yeah se. But the ROC movie? did it stay Ray park? Hasbro knows how to balance this se, is popular, but at it's core Joe is indeed military.

 

Joe was born out of the Old G.I.Joe and adventure team, which had no ninjas. Se didn't even start out as a ninja. G.I.Joe is military FANTASY. So it's always going to have it's roots in the military plain and simple.

 

It would be very unwise to insult the military on here if that was your were intent.

Duke and Snake-Eyes especially make me think this looks like some kind of GI Joe Teens project. They look too young. If the figures look like these designs they'll be to the rest of the GI Joe line what those goofy Clone Wars figures are to the Star Wars line. I'm just not sure they'll be compatible.

 

It's a real shame this animation stuff is going to engulf the entire line. The POC stuff has resurrected my interest after all those ugly movie figures just about drowned my interest in this line.

As a matter of fact, taking what little we know about Renegades, let me take a stab at the first episode's plot. In a few months time I'll come back and see how accurate I was.

 

Duke, Snake-Eyes and the rest of the G.I. Teens are enrolled in the elite G.I. Joe Academy. Some evil higher-up (actually a Cobra in disguise) comes along and committs some evil act of sabotage, framing the team. Now the cocky yet heroic Duke must lead his young and inexperienced team on a quest to clear their names, defeat Cobra, and learn important life lessons along the way.

 

If I'm correct, congrats Hasbro, you've reinvented Stargate Infinity. @smilepunch@

at wasn't that canceled in 3 episodes and buried and black listed almost as bad as the Holiday Special?

 

I'm not sure they will make them at an acaedmy, but a new team framed for something cobra does as they burst on the scene? I bet your dead on there.

cancelled after 26 actually though I as a Stargate fan wished it was only three I don't tend to concider it cannon

Kids today aren't being raised to appreciate anything like G.I.JOE anyway. We're not the good guys anymore and simply trying to make them unidentifiable as Americans isn't cutting it....so it seems? There's no hero's anymore (try to think of one) and the mood just isn't prime for such characters as these. We all can thank Reagan for the 80's G.I.Joe and Clinton for their demise in the 90's. Believe me..who our leaders are, it's all relative to the mood and mindset of a nation.

 

I know that opinion won't sit well with some and will be disagreed with, and I'm not trying to turn this all political and whatnot, but it's just something I think has some truth to it, however minor or major it may be?

I doubt there would be no Metal Gear if Joe never existed. Metal Gear is actually based on the ''Escape from...'' movies.

 

However, without [the large] Gi Joe, there would not be any Microman. Likewise, w/o Microman, there wouldn't be any RAH Gi Joe.
