TF Generations...

to be honest, i prefer the original G1 toy compared to the new version, which CTD pointed out, looks too much like Jazz.

Well, to be fair...the new one's not a Headmaster, and to be sure there's something to be said about overused molds, but the original Nightstick, from what I remember, was a "Brickformer" with cheesy-looking stickers, although I can appreciate vintage toys in their purest form.

By the way, speaking of brightly-colored late-comer characters in the vintage line, I always wanted a couple of the Autobot Targetmasters. I had the one that Transformers into a quasi-futuristic truck, but I always wanted the orange-and-yellow one. (I'm sorry, I can't remember his name just now.) And it just occurred to me the other day that the new Generations Sandstorm sports a similar color scheme as that Targetmaster, and I think that's why I've been so drawn to it. I got one in the mail yesterday, and it reminded me so much of the Targetmaster. I guess on some level the excitement of seeing new Transformers characters is still fresh in my mind some twenty-seven years later. Some of those later releases still seem so new in my mind. I can still remember seeing the Seacons at a local K-Mart store unexpectedly, and it was so exciting to see a new set of really cool and brightly-colored combiners on the shelves, although I never got any of them. (I'm happy to say I'm now the proud owner of the Piranhacon re-issue giftset all these years later, BTW...)

I didn't mean to go off on a tangent...I guess my point is I'm happy to see some of the later, brightly-colored characters being made into new figures. I always loved the newer, more futuristic designs, but a lot of those later figures weren't very articulated or had great robot modes. I would absolutely love to see Hasbro make the Decepticon Targetmasters. I used to have the one that had two cockpits and nosecones (Crossfire?), and I always thought that was such a unique and cool-looking design for a fighter-jet. But I never got the other two and wanted them so badly.

Nightbeat not Nightstick.

Nighttick was a Nebulan targetmaster gun.

  • 2 weeks later...

After it was reported the Asian Market for them exploded. I paid $15 for mine from Taiwan before his news broke, after they hit almost $30 from the same sellers.

If anything he is in league with the over seas sellers.
