Trade question

Mr Nobody

Recommended Posts

I currently have a tradelist up in the trades section. I paid $28 for a carded Revan that I honestly don't want anymore (cool fig, but doesn't really 'place' in my collection). I have an offer for a Darth Krayt 2-pack that I really want for both the Revan and a MOC Malak. The Revan alone cost me more than the comic pack goes for when you find it (and their supposed to still be selling at retail), so I'm apprehensive about trading something I shelled out for that hasn't been rereleased for a few years in part for something that is still supposedly on the pegs.

Is it cold feet, or do you think I'm being kinda cheap?

Here's the thing to think about: do YOU really need for it to be an equal trade, in terms of dollar value? What about the value of your wanting the items the other party has?

If you remove price from the equation, is a straight trade enough for your tastes--or is the over-riding concern to keep score?

If you just cannot overcome that kind of thing, then the trade is bad for you.

If you can overcome it, and go thru with the trade, chances are that karma will reward you in some other way, at some other time.

At the very least, you might be doing a fellow collector a favour.

agree with arrow.

depends on the value you put on a figure.

in trades i do, i set it like this...do we trade at retail value or secondary value? then it all depends on each person how much they are willing to give up to get what they want.

you are comparing your secondary value, to his retail value....look up the secondary value of the comic pack, if its around the cost you paid for your figure then you might feel beter about it.

Yeah, sounds about right, but it's not really about 'keeping score', I just hate going in the hole on an item, particularly where 'impulse buyer's remorse' is kinda hard to shake off at times.

But I guess that'll dissappear with the trade, right? ;)

Thanks, guys. :)

Yea, it really does come down to how you want to measure it. If you feel badly about spending the $$$, then recouping it is the priority, if instead you feel you just cannot stand the toy itself, then letting it go for any amount gets it out of your hair.

Always go with whatever makes you feel better.
