Granny's peace brigade

I found these videos on Youtube that I thought as Joe fans, you might be interested in

Now, I'm all for spreading the message of peace and ending war, but I think picking on a toy company is the wrong way to go about it. War Toys don't make wars. Bad Government does.

So let's all laugh at the old coots together XD

LOL you wrote screw you granny in the first comment :D

Little boys and girls have been running around with sticks playing "soldier" since the beginning of human life.

On one hand I can see the granny's point and kind of even agree with them on some things. Like, is it morally right to pretend to kill someone? Is it right to re-enact battles from ww1 and 2, Vietnam, etc... with toys representing soldiers who actually lived and fought and died for their respective countries? Heck video games put you in the middle of D-day to shoot some Nazis for yourself! I don't think its a good thing to be doing. But it really isn't a bad thing either. I mean you're not really shooting Nazis, its just "pretend" and its all in good fun. You don't learn right and wrong from action figures or movies or video games or music. Its the parents job to instill that into a child, not Hasbro's. Hasbro is just trying to make a buck, not destroy young minds. Though the recent movie may have done just that. . . @hmmm@

Indeed. I've always had a bit of a moral problem with reenacting real wars. Playing out things where people really y died and suffered always kinda bothered me. I never liked toys or video games based on WW2 or Vietnam. Hence why the 80s GI Joe is my favorite version. It's fantasy.

Though I have to disagree with you on the movie XD

my freaking god are these old women losing their minds or what they're toys for crying out load guitar hero has heavy metal on it but do you see kids screaming into a microphone or performing dark rituals or drawing men and women with their guts being ripped out by demons no you don't why can't people like this get a life or better yet a clue just because kids play with army figures doesn't mean they will become violent

and develope aggressive behavior

my message to theses people is this stop trying to bann stuff because you find it offensive or think it's going to screw up your kids besides I'd rather my kids play with joes than playing grandtheft auto 4 or smoking weed besides boys have always played rough it's nature I did my father did my grandfather did and so on it's what we do just because a kid plays rough with toys and friends doesn't mean he'll beat his wife later on in his life or become a serial killer

Is it wrong for your GIJOES to capture Corps figures and torture them by pulling them apart until their o-rings snap?

Is it wrong to waterboard COBRA figures in your custody?

For those action figures committing play-acts of heinous countenance, is it wrong to justly punish them by setting them on fire, or blowing them up with fire-crackers?

Do you HAVE TO give them a fair trial by a jury of their peers?

I mean.......they are a TOUGH crowd to get a verdict from.

After all, its all just plaaaaayyyinnnggggg.

Won't be long and people will find something wrong with tag.

Actually, there was a story on the local news radio a few months ago about a "push to make recess less competative/dangerous". They took all the standard recess games, including tag, and changed the rules so that there is no competition (like keeping score) and/or nobody gets hurt. Take Kickball, for example, where it is common to try to hit the runner with the ball before they make the base. The "new" version, you just pass the ball to ohter teammates before the runner makes the base.

jesus people can find fault with anything theese days

Yes, sadly they can.

And what is worse is that its the result of idle minds that take the EASY route, instead of look at problems that can more profoundly impact the people around these nitwits.

Why not encourage clearer thinking? Why not instil different ways of self-motivation, or giving people emotional tools to help them become more successful? Why not help the impoverished or the homeless elevate their lives into a better standard of living? Why not promote something as simple as reading, exercise, or healthy eating?

Instead, they go on the rampage over a toy that............really, in the scheme of things makes no difference in the world at all. Its an easy target because it takes no effort in attacking it, and it gets them attention.

These nitwits are dullards, and they deserve all the scorn and ridicule that can be heaped on them.

Oh boy..... Where do I start?

Has anyone heard of the rule #36 (it's called something like that)? The gist is no matter how obscure the subject matter, you can find porn for it. Well if there's not a rule already I institute rule #74. No matter how obscure the subject matter there is someone protesting it.

Why not encourage clearer thinking?

According to the protesters they are the ones who have the clear thinking, you have the clouded judgement. No one protest thinking their opinion is wrong.

On a side note: This is what came up for related videos, I found it amusing:

That's the beautiful thing about delusions; the Emperor's clothes are always wonderous, regardless if the little boy in the crowd sees him stark naked.

* Guitar Hero is a favorite.

* Flipcams - make a video diary etc.

* Gift cards for iTunes

* Sports related stuff -- especially if a favorite team is involved -- and tickets to sports events are a big whoop.

* Tickets to the theater -- There are 'cheap ticket' services that make this affordable.

* Gift cards for movie theaters

* A Netflix subscription

* Drum sticks and a practice pad

* Electronic keyboard (If you don't live with the intended recipient, check first with the adults who do.)

LOL I would have loved to get a globe and a Laminated place mat for Christmas when i was a little boy! You'd think that they'd think music and video games and tv would would want kids to go into the military with all the violence in them. apparently not though  how hypocritical, you weed smoking, orgy having hippy grandmas. for shame.

Wow, remind me never to invite them to any of MY Christmas and Birthday parties XD Though Rock Band is pretty cool. In fact, that reminds me. What really got me was when I saw a clip of them protesting to John Lennon's "Give Peace a chance." That was it. I was thinking "Oh No! You are NOT trying to ban my favorite toy line with my favorite music artist!" ><

My biggest question is -' What is their REAL reason for this kind of protest?' @hmmm@ Did they loose loved ones back in "NAM"?, or in more resent times like Desert Storm? Why this hatred for the Army?

Back in the 1980's, it was easy to pin ethical and moral standards of "killing with a gun" on the cartoon G.I. Joe. Other than Rambo and Arnold, there was actually alot of shoot 'em up rated-R movies in the 80's, but G.I.Joe was a cartoon.

So they attacked the target with the least resistance as far as "answering for the sins of our children because YOU (Hasbro) showed our sweet children how to fight!!"

Transformers and G.I.Joe were eventually taken off the air due to concerned parents.

Now look at what they have become in today's media. 3 movies, ALL in the top 50 best selling of all time. @loll@ ...and a TOY line stronger than the 1st.

It just goes to show ya, the old ways are fading fast. Bob Dylan said that numerous times. ;)
