Iron Man 2 Toys

I ran across these today at TRU, Found the set minus War Machine, I wasn't sure if I wanted to pick them up, I decided to get the Stealth Iron Man to check out the articulation, I didn't have a Stealth armor in this scale so why not. Here's some pics:

I like the new one's proportions better than the MU ones. The articulation is pretty good except for one thing: The head/neck moves like a swivel, I'm not sure if it's even a ball joint! I thought that Hasbro has finally gotten this Iron Man right but the swivel head really kind of irks me. (Cmon Hasbro designers! You should know better by now!) They are so close to having a decently articulated figure in this scale of Iron man. I love the ball joints on the hips ( I know not everyone loves these), but I think they look better than the MU hips. They move better and are more stable. In my opinion the perfect Iron Man would be a combination of these three. Ball jointed head of the first, body of the second, and hands of the third (the one with repulsor firing hands and a fist). Also notice I got one with two left upper arms, I'll return it as soon as I find another!

Here is Crimson Dynamo, I love this figure! I love how the articulation blends really well on the figure specifically the torso and the hips. (Probably moreso because of the armored look). I do however have a little bit of wobbly knees on my figure. Some more pics of him:

Here's some pics of the First Appearance Iron Man. I love the sculpt and the paint on this guy. Real nice attention to detail. Articulation wise his head has some upper/lower movement, torso joint due to the sculpt barely moves at all, the rest has pretty good range of movement though, he's not really that flexible anyway in this armor right? TMNT, I'm a Legends fan, and yeah, I do wish that Dynamo was a 6" figure, for sure. He's sure look great on my IM shelf, which is almost totally bare of villains.

But, I'm looking at the bright side. There are advantages to the smaller scale. We're going to get more characters made, and the paint apps are better. Plus, I love that they come with stands. I think that the Marvel Universe line is junk for the most part (one exception being the modern Iron Man pictured above), but this line is pretty much pure awesome. My 4" Iron Man collection is already pretty darn awesome, and this line just started.

I haven't gotten my hands on FA IM, so seeing these pictures of it above was cool. Thanks!

I think most of the background that you see there (the smashed wall rubble) is from ML Thing. Or was it ML Hulk? One of the early ML figures, I'm pretty sure.

Found some of these at my local TRU today. Didn't have much on the shelf. The guy said that had more but couldn't put it out until a certain date but didn't know what date that is. Does anyone else know?

March 1 should be the street date for these guys. I don't know how Toys R Us has gotten away with putting them out early. This is the first time I've ever actually been able to buy a movie toy before the street date. Every other time I find one accidently on the shelf, they won't let me get it. They also have the classic comice series IM2 Iron Man on their website for the last few days. I went to the local store today and they are rearranging everything, and there is a giant IM2 section, just waiting to be filled.

I found a whole slew of these at my local Toys R' Us the other day. I only picked up 4 of the comic series figures. I got classic IM, stealth ops IM, War Machine and 1st appearance armor IM. I was shocked that they had so many. They're probably almost all but gone now. I only saw one of the Mark II IM which probably means that's going to be the short packed rarest figure out of the bunch. I held off on getting him because the paint app. was really sloppy. Overall I kind of like them so far. They're fun. But, once again buyer beware Hasbro has gotten sloppy with the paint. Most of the comic series figures looked good but the majority of the movie line had horrific paint apps.

Lines like these suck becuase you get 8,333,003 Ironman figures....and maybe a token other figure. Spiderman is worse because AT LEAST Ironman actually HAS different armors (where as Spiderman has had, what, 3 suits his entire life?).

The only comic movie line I though worked was the Hulk since they had the Hulkbuster figures for him to fight.

Ironman? Hell are they even gonna BOTHER doing Whiplash?

Nice pics Sandman. I found all these including War Machine at TRU yesterday. They had quit a few of each figure. I picked up a War Machine and Dynamo.

War Machine is pretty nice but seem much bigger than the MU Iron Man. I assumed the IM2 Iron Man figures would be more in scale with War Machine, but after seeing Sandman pics maybe they aren't? War Machine seems to be more accurate than the MU Iron Man figures scale wise. Compared to regular MU figures like Cap and Hawkeye he looks to be the right size.

Here some pics

I should have a full review of War Machine up on MarvelousNews.com by the end of the day.

Here are some pics of the Iron Man 2 figures I bought today. This is my favorite Marvel line right now, I can't wait to collect all of these figures. Here are the 8 that I have gotten so far:

Also, one of my FAVORITE things about this line, is that they are NUMBERED!

The Wolverine Origins figures were not numbered, so I was surprised to see these have the numbers on them. The only ones I have seen so far are 1-7 and 22-26. It looks like there are two different case assortments right now, and thats the lower numbers in one and the higher numbers in the other. Each case assortment contains multiples of each figure, except for 1 in each different case assortment. The Movie Series Iron Man Mark 1 comes ONE to each of the lower number case assortment, and the Comic Series Iron Man that looks sort of like the Mark 1 comes ONE to the higher number case assortments. These are numbers 1 and 22. I searched through the case assortments tonight at a couple of different Wal Marts, and that is what I found with these figures. War Machine and Crimson Dynamo come 2 to each of the higher number case assortments, but they both have been harder to find. Anyways, as said above, this is my favorite Marvel line at the moment. I am excited about the middle numbers being released. I also hope that the numbers go higher than 26. Only time will tell!

Also, pictures do not do these justice, you should try to check them out in person next time at Wal Mart or Toys R Us. I have not seen any at Target yet.
