Wave 12 Hits RETAIL!

BlackLantern

Recommended Posts

I went to my Wal Mart tonight, and I saw the stock shipping box for Mattel Collect And Connect 6 Inch Action Figures, and of course, I thought it was Wave 11. Since a friend of mine is still in need of a Deadman phasing arms and legs variant, I opened the stock shipping box, and there it was, Wave 12!

There was Dr. Midn-Nite x2, Spectre x2, Eclipso x1, Iron x1, Mary Batson x1, All Stars Nightwing x1, All Stars Superman x1, All Stars Batman x1. The Superman and Batman are the exact same figures from the Wave 11 shipments, BUT in the new packages. They did NOT have Copperhead or Desaad in the assortment. I bought one of each, and then decided to check a few more Wal Marts, so I went to 5 more, and only 2 of them had Wave 12. One had the exact same assortment, but had the variant white dress Mary Batson, and the other had a different assortment with no Mary Batson at all, and Eclipso x2 instead of x1. I even found the Spectre variant that glows in the dark.

I accidently left the bag with the non variant Spectre and Eclipso in the car when I took these pictures, so here is everything I got, except those 2. I left the All Stars Superman and Batman on the shelf at Wal Mart. The glow in the dark Spectre has to be one the coolest DCUC figures ever to be released.

Here is the All Stars Nightwing (Exactly like Wave 3 Nightwing for those that did not know):

It says All Stars on the side, where the other figures have the Wave # and Figure #. I am glad they kept the Wave # and Figure # somewhere on these packages.

Anyways, be on the look out for these at your local Wal Mart.

Thanks.

Hopefully I'll see these here in Northeast Ohio, but I've gotten used to not with DCUC. :P

Also, any chance you could post side by side pics of the two Spectres when you get a chance? Some of the Glamor Shots of the two online make it hard to determine which looks better in the real world.

Yeah, definately. In my opinion, the glow in the dark Spectre is one of the coolest figures they have ever released. When I take the pictures, I will make sure to get good detailed pictures so you can see the differences.

Yeah, I'm a complete sucker for glow in the dark figures; but a lot of the shots of the figure are unflattering. It's hard to tell if it's the paintjob on the regular version, because it looks like some photoshop retouching to me in some of the Mattel photos.

Congrats! I hate the case assortments people have been finding for the last week. I started readinf reports on Fwoosh about the crazy case assortments last week. This is not going to be a good wave to find it all at retail it looks like! @hmmm@

Holy cow! You're on a lucky streak with DCUC! Were these at the Mansell Walmart? Which other ones in the area still had some 12?

These were at the Marietta Wal Mart on Cobb Parkway, right by Sam's Club, and when I left, they still had the All Stars Superman and Batman, Dr. Mid-Nite, and Spectre. Only 2 more Wal Marts had Wave 12, and at the one where I grabbed the Mary Batson variant, two guys came up out of no where and grabbed the entire box and started begging me for the Batson variant. Thats a long story lol, but I bought the Batson variant at that one, and they bought the rest of the entire shipping box. The last Wal Mart I went to is where I found the Spectre variant, and when I left, they still had the rest of the figures. I am not sure if they still have them, but if you want to know which Wal Mart this was, it was the Wal Mart in Duluth on Pleasant Hill Road.

I checked the Wal Mart on Mansell, and they did not have them yet. I am sure that Wal Mart and others will be getting them soon. Also, expect to see random Superman and Batman All Star figures. I doubt we will see alot of Nightwing, but it might turn out to be like the Firestorm World's Greatest Heros and be everywhere. It is definately a cool figure, so lets hope it is not too hard to find. I just think it is strange how they release the All Stars Superman and Batman in different packages now, when they just had them in the older packages with Wave 11. I guess they don't want any of the old packages clogging up the pegs and shelves.

Anyways, good luck to all that are hunting for them! I am currently hunting for the last Public Enemy figure I need, Black Lightning. I found Major Force today, but someone had bought the Black Lightning. I will find it soon though.

I saw Black Lightning x 2 at Acworth Target on Wednesday. And I saw at least one of him not too long ago at the Target in Canton.

I have yet to see Wave 12 yet in the Birmingham area, although I've been in Targets mostly. I'm not buying them unless I find them all in one swoop; I'll just pick a case up on Mattycollector when they release it.

Edit: Scratch that. Saw one Dr. Midnite at the Alabaster Wal-Mart. The figure looked ok, but the package was mangled.

I found Black Lightning today. My friend went out to 5 or 6 Targets today in the Atlanta metro area, and at every one of them, he only found Superman and Batman variants. I drove to the one closest to me that never has anything, and they were putting the new case of the shelf, so I picked up the Black Lightning. For some reason, I really like these figures. Even though it would be a hard hit on my wallet, I wish they would release a wave of figures for every DC animated movie they put out, each with thier own boxes and CnC figure. It would be cool if they did 1 wave for each, not 2 waves like they did for PE. They will probably never do this, but it would be cool in my opinion.

Found the first part of Wave 12 at Meijer's - willing to trade Spectre, Eclispso, Dr. Midnite and/or all-stars for Deadman Phasing(need 2) and/or Steppenwolf(geen and yellow) BTW thanks Brent for heads up and helping me score!

I got so lucky with my pre-order.

I put the order in before the price increase was announced. As a result BBTS charged me the old price. =)

My two favorite figures from this wave are Iron and Doctor Midnite. If you are going to buy anyone, these are the 2 to get IMO.

Damn, those All Stars are going to kill this wave and clog up the pegs again!!! Why can't it be just 1 All Star per case???

I couldn't agree more.

While I understand the need for more common figures, we've been Batspammed heavily over Christmas.

How about re-releasing Gentleman Ghost Mattel? Ugh. . .

Well, good to see old DCUC frustrations abound in the new year.

Ooh, I hope this sticks for me.

Still no word from BBTS on my pre-order. :(

Exactly Ganesha. Of course stores want the big names like Supes or Bats, but not 3 of them in 1 friggin case!!! Spread them out, so collectors can complete their CTC figure in one fell swoop, that is if they can afford to do so! @hmmm@

I think the Nightwing All Star will sell very fast out of every case. Every where that I have seen random Wave 12 figures, the Nightwing is gone every time. I have seen it twice and bought it both times, once for me and once for a friend. Also, the Superman and Batman All Stars are being bought as well, but not as much as Nightwing. My friend returned the All Star Superman and Batman to a Wal Mart, and we went back that night, they still had them, but the next day, they were gone. So hopefully they will sell more than past All Stars/Worlds Greatest.

In one of the "Ask Matty" Segments, ToyGuru stated that the "All Stars" were meant for the kids and not the collectors.

They are trying to re-release figures that the kids may just now be learning about or that the parents may have just been made aware of.

Matty is also trying to keep old favorites on the shelves. I remember talking with a friend who owns a comic book shop about Superman and Batman Action figures. Their take was that there should always be a Batman or Superman figure on the shelf and available for children and there for a while there was not. Granted, this was back in the mid to late 90s.

Hopefully they will ship them with a bit of caution and have calculated the demand for the All Star figs.
