Video Game Thread.

Thanks for the input guys. We played MVC2 a few times on the 360, and we also played a lot of DC vs MK and she really enjoyed that. But last night we were at her moms and a commercial came on for the new MK and I said something about getting MVC3 instead of that and she said something like "oh, ok" like she was disappointed. So I guess that answers my question, looks like it will be MK and maybe I'll get MVC3 for my birthday come May.

 

Anyone see the trailers and fatalities videos for it yet? I'd post a youtube link, but my work has it blocked. We watched it last night and it looks so awesome! Seems like they are really big on breaking the body up into chunks in one way or another. Love to play some games and get drunk and/or stoned, I can't wait for it!

i just made a mistake. i buyd wwe all stars. i thought that it was a fun game and all but did i get bored with it after ten matches you are done. what a let done. i loved the animation and how the wrestlers looked. i realy thought that it was more of an entertainement but it always stays the same.

Ive been playing this at my brothers, its alright, a fun game to play with a group, and I am a sucker for the create a wrestlers, but I can't sit and play 10 in a row. Fun game though, its more of a rental game though.

Yes you can hook it up to any tv. In fact I think the PS3 comes packed with standard composite cables and dosn't actually come with HD capable cables. Sony expects you to buy those separately.

awww yeahhhhh, I got mine on preorder at amazon with release day delivery!! finally i have a guarantee i get my game on day one.... MvC3 i got 3 DAYS after release and I ordered it FROM capcom....

maybe i will trade my wwe all stars with mortal kombat. i bet that it is a win win scenario lol. we have a shop here who takes back used games and gives store credit. maybe if i go in with all stars and iron man i get mortal kombat instead. i will see.

I just recently started up Demon's Soul and damn it is one tough game. At any point if you die you start at the beginning of the level and every enemy respawns. If you get back to your body you can retrieve all your lost souls (currency), but if not you lose it all. And with 5 boards and multiple parts and bosses to each, but no linear reasoning for which levels to do (besides lack of equipment to proceed.)

 

I've probably lost over 50k + in the game currency, and can't remember being this frustrated in a game in a long time. But, for some reason I keep turning it back on and playing it. Any one else play and/or beat this one?

 

About 3 weeks later and I achieved my platinum trophy in this tough #$%^ing game. It was actually a lot of fun once I learned the mechanics of it, and even though the game becomes (technically) progressively more difficult with each replay - in actuality it wasn't that bad at all.

 

If anyone likes a damn good challenge and not just whisk through a game - I recommend this one.

It was never a movie. It was a director fronting his own money and trying to show what he could do with the Mortal Kombat franchise putting a more grounded and "real-world" spin on it. Nguyen posted the link to the first webisode

for now there is only the first episode, but its being made as a mini web series. I believe there are 9 episodes planned in total.

I've been playing Final Fantasy XIII. Liking it so far...the combat system is pretty interesting, and most of the characters are pretty cool. I know a lot of people complained about how linear it is, but I don't mind it so much.

 

Of course, FFXIII will be going on the back-burner next week...it's MORTAL KOMBAT TIME!

I actually feel like a 12 year old kid again with my anticipation of the new Mortal Kombat. Its pretty crazy Tuesday can't come soon enough.

 

Damn ND, you are STILL playing monster hunter??!?!? Well I guess it is kind of a World of Warcraft type of game and all the MH games Ive played they arent ones that you just finish although they were hard as hell to play.

Rented Wolverine and Darkest of Days surprised Wolverine didn't get rated M for all the blood spewing everywhere I literally saw Sabertooth rip off some African Militia guy's arms yet it's rated T @loll@
