The race that helped the Dominion in DS9 were the Breen.

Remus was actually mentioned in a ToS episode, I forget which one. I always thought it and the Remens were something created just for Nemesis. Now because they had that ToS reference, I like them a bit more.

Romulans might make sense for the second movie. Maybe a battle between them and the Klingons (they never did like each other) with Kirk and crew stuck in the middle. Could be good.

I'd watch that but quick question is romulus safe now that the federation knows about that supernova and the red matter?

One would assume it would be since the future spock knows all about the current events... the question is if they choose to help them or not since you know... romulans killed vulcan

but do two wrongs make a right and nero did state that he has no involement with the romulan empire so can the federation really blame an entire race for what a group of fanatic romulans did

Yes, technically, because a divergent time-line means that ALL possibilities and probabilities are now potentially different. From the point of divergence onward, you can have literally no kinship with the original time-line, so anything that applies in the original time-line need never apply in the divergent one. The Federation can collapse into ruin before the Next Generation era, Earth can be destroyed by some cosmic entity, people like Jean Luc Picard could never be born.

The ground rules can be completely re-written, and anything can change.

The supernova need simply never happen--because things are literally different down to the quantum level.

Wasn't it Balance of Terror?

Yea, Romulus and Remus were shown on a viewscreen map in Balance of Terror, to illustrate the Federation outposts in proximity to the Neutral Zone.

Just because the Federation knows "about" Red Matter does not mean they can produce any more.

Spock Primer is unlikely to reveal much about the future.
