No no no! I want the 8inch version. They better not make a 3 3/4 version of that outfit and us never get the real one @loll@ Now that you said that Naz, I am sure they will..... thanks @smilepunch@

I would like to see:

  • Sigma 6 figures done movie-style in 3 3/4 scale (Lt. Stone, Firefly, Scarlet, etc.) since 8-inch is never coming back
  • 3 3/4 homages to other Joe lines like Sgt. Savage and GI Joe Extreme (Scar would be pretty cool)
  • A Cobra base!
  • More figures in that Metal Gear Solid style (like the Jungle Sniper Viper)
  • A 25th anniversary-style chrome-faced Cobra Commander in a single pack
  • More homages to MASK (and maybe even Inhumanoids!)

More classic updates!

Articulated Timebr!

Less of the weird way out there figs that are coming. I like the movie and I like the figs but some of them from the new line just don't flow with me! They seem way to out there.

Lastly, I agree that it would be nice to get a Sigma Six Scralet somehow finally.... SDCC would be nice!

If Hasbro can make a super articulated Ewok they can damn sure make a Timber with moveable legs and hinged jaw. I have wanted this for ages now.

It was the 25th Anniversary stuff that brought me back into GI Joe after twenty years and once the 25th Anniversary line ended so did my interest in GI Joe. I'd like to see a resurrection of the 25th Anniversary line or some such line inspired more by the classic look of these characters.

As for this ROC and POC stuff, ROC/POC is to GI Joe what Yoko Ono was to John Lennon. It's ugly, weird, nobody likes, and we can't get rid of it without a big messy horrible disaster.

I'd also like to see more small drones (like that little scout hiss that will come with crimson CC) Maybe Scoop can make a come back operating a predator? Cobras need those too.

I've always wondered if Cobra can build BATS, why can't they build smaller drones to sneak into a building with a bomb etc?

I wouldn't be interested in the 8 inch version but I do really feel bad for you sigma fans. I like the design for Scarlet but that scale isnt' for me. I think they would have sold too, customizers bought up a ton of tunnel rats trying to make him female! Even if someone like mastercollecter tries to offer it it would be insanely expensive. I just don't see it being a good business move.

Well "Robot Rebellion" was supposed to be the next theme after Valor vs Venom, wasn't it? I thought non-human B.A.T.s woulda been pretty cool. Hell, they could have easily done a Transformers tie in there.

I would like to see a limited edition GIJOE SELECT line in the Marvel LEgends, Marvel Select scale or the 8" Sigma Six scale, with only the most iconic looks for each of the main characters....

1) Duke in original uniform

2) Original Scarlett

3) Snake Eyes with Timber

4) Cobra Commander with hood as he appeared in GIJOE #1 and removable helmet

5) Baroness

6) Original Destro

7) Storm Shadow

This would not replace the smaller scale line.

I know I am in the minority here, but I really really like the SIgma Siz scale. I am only sad that a Scarlett was never made in that scale.

I know it's years ago but I still Lament that loss. Blowing up robots is more acceptable than seeing death of blue shirt cannon fodder for the kids. I also have to admit i've thought of the Bats getting out of cobra's control since my childhood. It's simple it would work, and it would have made some awesome toys if done right.

@smilepunch@ Ignore this Hasbro!

You hear this everyone once and awhile, but it highly doubt it will happen. 6 " scale is dying and there is a reason, toys that big with that many parts cost a ton to produce.

the 8" scale always baffeled, if they had went with 6" scale then, who knows if we would have ever gotten the 1:18 scale back

I would like to see a "GI Joe: Saga" type line where figures from the movie, Resolute and RAH are incorporated. As far as I'm concerned the RoC "aesthetic" is overused. They could easily release designs from other GI Joe mythos alongside the movie stuff and have everything part of the same line. There's no reason we can't have a classic style Footloose, Low Light, etc in the new packaging, and of course they can incorporate Resolute figures (they did with Snake Eyes). And quite frankly, there are still movie figures that I would like to see, like Dr. Mindbender, a proper Zartan (not in fatigues), Breaker, as well as Heavy Duty, Scarlett and Breaker from the Paris Pursuit scene, "Jinx", and non grey camo "Pit Commandos". So for me, I would prefer if they don't just limit themselves to one theme - they could do several and just "pretend" they're all part of the same line as far as I'm concerned. Might piss off the MOCers but who cares about them anyway! ;)

I like the new "Metal Gear Solid"-esque flavour of the new POC figures. More of that kind of theme.

Second that.

Agreed, how many scales do we need anyway?

We're basically getting a "select", high quality line right now through Sideshow anyway. Yeah, it's 12", but that's more historically appropriate for GI Joe anyhow.

Everyone is entitled to thier own opinion. For many collecters, the 6", 7" or 8" scale allows for better detail. And since I have the entire Marvel Legends and DC Universe collections, I personally would like to have the heavy hitters in the scale. I think for the most part GIJOE should stay at the traditional 3 3/4 scale, but there is nothing wrong with wishing to see a 6" Cobra Commander or Scarlett and displaying them with my other collections.

Oh, I completely understand, that's your opinion and it's cool.

I just think it's wise to look at it from a business perspective and realize it's highly unlikely.

I thought i was going to be in a dream world when marvel went 3 3/4 but super showdown was too flimsy and the hasbros have been to expensive with less articulation (the new venom has no knee joints!) so scale isn't everything anyways.

maybe that was a tangent, sorry, but you saying that brought that to mind.

I'm probably more pro 3 3/4 even than Joe, I loved that scale, but that doesn't mean I love everything in it:(

I like the idea someone had about incorporating G.I. Joe Extreme and Sgt. Savage into the 3-3/4" scale line. That would be interesting. Also, I too would like to see some select characters made into 6-inch figures that are highly detailed, articulated, and loaded down with weapons and accessories. But here's what I'd really like to see come about:

Hasbro, please please PLEASE bring back the 25th Anniversary line!! And with its return I'd like to see some previously released figures re-released on the classic cardbacks, like the Dusty, Alpine, and Quick-Kick. And I'd also love to see more classic vehicles re-released. For example, I'd love to see an anniversary-style Wolverine with Cover Girl. (I ordered one in the mail through one of those mail-away offers from the late '80s, and sadly it never came.) *sigh*

I feel like the ROC/POC lines are the modern take on G.I. Joe like we all thought GvsC/Spy Troops/VvsV was, and I really like what they're doing. They keep suprising me with "ROC/POC" versions of classic characters like Charbroil and the '88 Storm Shadow that I love. I'd like to see more classic characters get the ROC/POC treatment. (I'm still waiting on Flint and Beachhead Hasbro...)

I loved Resolute, and I wouldn't mind a continuation of it, both as a cartoon and secondary toy line.

I'm not a Sideshow collector, but I love their G.I. Joe stuff. I'd like to see them do a Beachhead, Flint, and Spirit, among others. Even if I couldn't afford them, it'd be nice to know they're out there. (lol)

I wish someone would do a new G.I. Joe comic, but have it take place during the '80s like the original books. And I'd love to see George Perez do it. I think he'd be the perfect artist to do G.I. Joe. I've said that for years. He does large casts very well, and I think his sense of detail would suit G.I. Joe perfectly.

I want to amend mine after reading the "questions to Hasbro" thread.

I'd like to see some actual product between now and fall that doesn't include straight up repaints. Especially of the same 5 guys. A good example would be the "Cobra Island" 7 packs. Minimal new parts (heads, for example). New character, old parts. At least that way they can give collectors new stuff instead of 8 more versions of Ripcord with the same exact mold, just painted different.

And while I'm thinking of Ripcord, I wonder if they will make him white again lol.

I would like to see a "Universe" line. That way we can do 25th, movie, Sgt. Savage, Sigma Six (well, technically that would be "movie line", Action Force, M.A.S.K., etc.

The line could easily be done like SW or TF Universe and make us all happy. All that stuff that I quoted is and sounds great. Here is what else I would love to see.

Battlepacks (not in goofy colors and with a few new pieces)

Expresion head packs! Make a 6 piece Head pack of a figure with diff heads all for one type of figure. A Duke head pack would come with 6 diff. sculps of facial expressions for Duke, Scarlett, Troops (with diff. hair, eyes etc.) other characters and such. Maybe they could come with diff. hats, helmets, etc.

More combat field type small packs, like back in the day. The little accessoy type packs with the Machine guns and little broken down brick things.

I would just like to see it get back to what it was all originally about. If you ever watched the special on G.I. Joe on the last disc of the season 1.2, they have a whole doc. about what Joes, I want it to be more like that again and not just about making 50 Snake Eyes, Dukes, SS and CC's every year.

Give me something to build up for a display or play.

I would just like to see it get back to what it was all originally about.

Define "originally". Something's DO have to change. A good example could be the Power Rangers. They've had what like 15 incarnations now? They have the same basic themes, but had they stuck with just the original versions the entire time, it wouldn't still be around. Now that isn't to say that incarnations 2 through 15 were improvements (I'm sure several sucked). But the changes they made seemed to have worked for them.

Of course THAT example doesn't work so well with "large cast" lines like G.I. Joe and Transformers. That is why we get the "core characters" concept. Personaly, I don't see that as TOO much of a problem. The problem is how Hasbro handles it. ROC actually didn't do too bad mixing cores and news. In fact, we had two whole waves of nothing but new guys (even if most of them were frankenstein/repaints)....then they ended the line with the 5 cores and ONE new guy (Desert Viper). Seems to me they have 6 cores (Duke, Scarlet, Ripcord, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and Heavy Duty/Baroness/Cobra Commander). If a wave is 6 characters, they could do each wave with 3 cores and 3 news. Just switch withc 3 cores come in each wave each time (first wave is Duke, Snake Eyes and Ripcord, second wave is Storm Shadow, Scarlett and Heavy Duty). It COULD give us (collectors and Hasbro) just what we need.

I think, for me, the lackluster aspect is with vehicles and multi-packs. Many of them have been...weak. They tried once or twice (Aero-Viper and Motor Nitro-Viper) but most where just well, as I said, weak. Terra-Viper? Totally lame. That Joe "troop builder" set? None of those guys really worked. They were just too "generic". A lot of that had to do with being "movie figures" when a lot of us collectors wanted to see "25th figures". Personally speaking, they know we want them (as 25th) and it wouldn't take much to make them that way (just need to pick he right base bodies and do up some appropriate vests/gear) AND they have the names "available" so why not take advantage? Would it be better to let the name lapse then have to call the character Jeffery "Repeater" Therien?

Well, long winded, sorry, but what is G.I. Joe "originally" about? And how does Hasbro incorporate that into the toyline while still keeping it "fresh" and "new"?
