Got an e-mail from Hasbro today telling about their Black Friday sale. It didn't go into details but they're suppose to have a bunch of stuff at $1,$2, and $3. No idea if it'll be G.I. Joe,Star Wars,Transformers or Marvel or whatever. Just know that it will start midnight Thursday/Friday and run until the 30th. Just giving everyone a headsup.

anyone seeing the special items show up yet? I thought the sale was supposed to go active at 12am Eastern

UPDATE: looks pretty lame - just a few things - random toy lines, no big whoop.

Weird that that Comic Pack doesn't even show up under their $2 items list. Maybe they've hidden more little easter eggs around their site. Or, maybe they're just a pain in the @ss like normal. For the record, though, I tested it and the Family2009 code works with the sale items. Its 20% off and the $4.99 flat rate shipping.

You shouldn't be too surprised, Cliff. Action figures(particularly ones with an adult following) are not considered a vital part of TRU's sales plan. I'm close friends with a couple of Asst. Mgrs at a nearby TRU and when I was there the day before Thanksgiving, I commented about how poorly stocked(not in a d!ckish way) their action figure area was. Their response was "yeah, unfortunately, we get what TRU Corporate says we need according to sales. And by their standards we don't sell enough figures to warrant sending any more". So, it appears that TRUs logic is: if we didn't sell the older crappy stuff, no one will buy the newer stuff. I know that's an oversimplification of a complex policy, but it's disappointing to hear. But, they've got enough Bakugan crap to last 10 years, and they get more every truck. And it keeps selling. It shows that kids drive the sales, which I think we all can accept as true, but I wish they would try to stock more Joes, newer SW, more DC, etc... to maybe make an enticing display for kids. Right now, my store has one side of one aisle that contains Joes, SW, DC, Battlestar Galactia, Ghostbusters, DCUC, True Heroes/Power Team Elite, all video game lines(halo, Dead Space, GoW, etc), and the leftover Hellboy 2/Spirit/Street Fighter figures. That's like 4 toys per line in the whole store.

okay. rant over.
