Mattel has released images for their DC Universe Classics wave 12 variant figures.

The Glow in the Dark variant of Spectre is the chase figure for this wave and Mary Batson in her white outfit will ship in cases with a 50/50 ratio with the regular version.

This wave will include the following figures:

- Spectre

- Eclipso

- Dr Mid-Nite

- Iron (with real metal parts!)

- Copperhead

- Mary Marvel (with white chase version, image not available)

- Dessad

The Collect and Connect figure for this wave will be Darkseid. Look for this wave to ship in Spring of 2010.

- Spectre

- Dr Mid-Nite

- Iron (with real metal parts!)

- Copperhead

& darkseid all look good to me, hope they give darkseid a non glowing hand though :D reminds me too much of thanos like that haha

I forget how the press photos for previous females were but does this mean Mary will not have an ab crunch?

Mary will NOT have ab-crunch articulation. MATTEL said they were concerned it would adversely affect the sculpt.

whats is up with all this glow in the dark lately? glow in the dark is ok but not that great. in a year they will look yellow. seems like every figure has to have glow in the dark now. the regular spectre looks way better for me. i prefer the white mary marvel. still not decided if i need them all for darkseid. yes he is cool but i love the old one.

I can only think of one other figure...Dead Man (or whoever) from wave 11. And that's just the variant.

Ya know, every time Mattel calls something "variant", "chase", or "ship at a 50/50 ratio", the normal one is always harder to find. Examples, ever since W2:

Aquaman (long hair outnumbers short hair)

Captain Atom (silver is rarer, from what I've seen)

Superman (red/blue is like, 2:1 to black suit)

Dr. Impossible (need I remind you?)

Booster Gold (I hardly see the collared version)

Wildcat (the black one is impossible to find!)

Mantis (human, too!)

I tend to not believe it anymore...

Re Mary Batson's ab crunch: If it makes her torso look good, I'm all for it.

But why did they make her so... Dunst-y? She should look more like the DCDirect Mary!

Wow. She does kind of look like her. Thankfully, the resemblence isn't too strong or it would've been a pass for me.

I don't really like either of these varients. The Spectre looks kind of cheap with that glow-in-the-dark plastic.

mary marvel sucks! not as a fig, but as a character! so does hoppy and cap. jr.(im still getting them!) and that spectre is wack as hell too!(but it does have a purpose...so ill buy it)

I usually get the variants, but I'm still undecided on the Spectre and Deadman variants. Glow in the dark is neat for a few minutes, but it's not how I'm usually going to display them. Scareglow I like because he looks great even when he's not glowing, but the Spectre variant looks ugly compared to the regular one.

And damn, that Iron is still so awesome. Probably the best figure the Four Horsemen have made since the DCSH Steel.

Deadman variant is alright, I'm just not sure if it's different enough that I want to spend $13 on it.
