I think I'm gonna be sick. I thought the Bryan Singer custume was bad. This one and with Nicholas Cage just made me sick to my stomach. I'm so glad this movie never happened...

Once the initial shock of being blinded by the vinyl costume wore off, I noticed that Supernick appeared to be wearing one of those hippy charm necklaces.

 

 

I thought it is a hippy chain as well, but some ppl have said it is the neck opening of the costume

 

Because of that, some believes that this photo is fake; they say it is a superman toy with the actor's face photoshopped on.

 

However, I have read other comments that makeup would cover the blend between the head and the costume flesh. Keep in mind that this is a test shot of Cage donnin' the costume. Also, I am sure all of us knows that such a Superman action fig doesn't exist.

 

You can see his chest hairs popping out of the outfit (if it is not a necklace) and it doesn't look photoshopped imo.

 

It would seem strange for a big site that focuses on movies that Tim Burton made (regardless whether or not it is in a Jpn site,) would use a fake photo. I think some ppl just do not want to believe

That would have damaged the Superman franchise for a good long time, had it ever been realized. Cage should know better though, being a comics fan, and I'm guessing his ego might have gotten the better if him here.

He looks downright hideous in that costume.

wow that was a long time ago when they talked that cage should play superman. cage is a huge superman fan and this would have been a wish come true for him. i dont think he is good for the role but this idea was wrong from the start. i mean tim burton for superman??????????? what do some people expect that he will bring out? burton is well known for his style and that for years now. burtons visions can never get mixed with superman. superman is the light. as batman is the dark. superman should not hide in shadows but shine as a symbol.

I have seen the images of the cartoon drawings befor but never have i seen nick in the costume. After i stared at it in disbelife for about 20 minuets all i could say was holy vinal crap on a stick batman.

 

And i don't care what anyone says the singer move fell short but wasn't that bad you take the kid being his out of the plot and it really flows in well with the rest of the films. Again i know it fell short of what it should have been but it had its good moments that felt reeves like.

 

Back on topic i heared that cage tried out for the role but never did i imagein something like this. By the way him and his elvis addiction kinda ruined ghost rider. But thats a whole nother topic lol.

I knew he was trying to get the part back when they wanted to make this movie, but i didn't know they actually put him in costume. YUCK! I remember thinking when the news first came out that Nic Cage as Superman would have ruined that movie for me!

Nick Cage my be a big Superman fan but he needs to get over the fact that he looks nothing like the Man of Steel. He can't paly him in a movie anymore than I can. Sorry.

 

It's interesting that I see this thread now because I just came from someone's house where they were watching a movie called Moonstruck with Cher and a very young Nick Cage. Laughably bad acting on his part.

I agree. It was kind of a mixed bag but I really don't think it was as bad as most fans say it was. I actually really liked Kevin Spacey as Lex Luther. And I think this video proves it could have been MUCH worse.
