Wave 10 Hits

Today I took the UPCs of wave 10 to my local walmart. They pulled them up in their system and it showed the figures as being recalled. I guess that means no way will I ever find them at my store.

Thats crazy. I wonder if there is actually truth to that.

I have no idea. I have another walmart in the area I can try and check and see if they show the same thing. Granted, she only checked 1 of the 7 UPCs, but I assume it would show the same for all of them.

There's two PGs sitting in my Walmart right now (well, 4 hours ago anyway). One's been there at least a week now.

I am regulated to the fact that if I cannot find these at retail, I will NOT be paying anymore than 115-120 for a set of 7, that is a pricey enough markup for ebay. Prices have dropped but not far enough for me.

I would be surprised if anybody would even bother selling them for that. if a seller sold them for 120, ebay and paypal would take like 15 of it.

it would be easier for the seller to just return them to the store lol

A set of 7 is about 98 bucks, so selling them for 115 - 120 including shipping which is always slightly inflated is not bad, a lot of people sell figures for close or even less than retail value, this figure is still a profit and considering what a set of 7 goes for with free shipping it may just come out right at that price.

I think you should call that store again and have someone look up another UPC. I'll bet you get a different answer. Never heard of an item being "recalled" before. Only "non-replenishable".

Ah, I'm beginning to feel real stupid. I've obtained every figure so far sans Batman. I kept passing on him, because people are treating him like Man-Bat, Robotman, or Joker (just because he's from W10, and is recognizable).

But suddenly (at two different Wal-Marts), some people returned handfuls of Mr. Miracles, Dr. Impossibles, and Cyborg. Looks like W10 is done, and I'm lacking the easiest to obtain fig....but everyone wants scalper prices for it. :/

Well I'm finally done with wave 10, no thanks at all to my local wal mart. Every figure was obtained either through friends on this board, facebook, ebay and even Frank & Sons where I coughed up $30 for Man-Bat. I wanted to say thank you though to everyone here who either helped or did there best to do so. If I ever see them I will definitely try and hook some people up.

I found another set at a Wal-Mart in Atlanta, so now I have my Wave 10 set to stay sealed and my Wave 10 set to open. I always keep them sealed unless I can find doubles, and I finally did. Man Bat was actually hidden behind some legos toys. I always check behind stuff because alot of people like to hide them if they can not afford them at the moment. Anyways, I am glad I am done with Wave 10. While I was searching though, I found a Wal-Mart in GA that had 4 of the Wave 5 Riddler. I bought two of them, one so I will have my extra to open, and one for a friend who has all but Wave 5. I can't believe they actually had ANY of Wave 5. It was an old dumpy Wal-Mart in Roswell, GA.

huh? 120 including shipping? I am just guessing that shipping a set of these in the US would be about 12 bucks. so that leaves 8-9 bucks. ebay would take like 15.

so you think a seller would go through all the trouble just to lose 6 bucks out of their pocket? I don't think so. The only way selling them for that cheap would make any sense is if they stole them, and it's all profit.

No, not including shipping charges, and if you factor in shipping charges then some auctions are close to that anyway, I have seen auctions with free shipping end at 150-157, so my pricing is close to what we are seeing on ebay.

Something is rotten in Northern IL on this wave. I chased around to 7 Walmarts around Grayslake and struck out completely. I spoke to an AM at the one closest to my house, they had five old figs on the pegs (blue beetle, two cyborgs, a Big barda, a flash and a kid flash), they checked the system and it said they had 37 in stock. They checked the back and couldn't find any where they were supposed to be. The guy even checked a fresh pallet for me. Anyway, he said he'd order a case for me (I trucked all the way up the Racine WI for Pete's sake!) but I'm not holding my breath. I'm guessing someone there knows what they have and hid the missing 32 somewhere until they got paid and could buy them (to turn around and scalp them).

I'm so aggravated by this...I'm going to have to turn to E-bay in a week or so if this guy strikes out for me....grrrrr.....
