Quick question on the DCUC Despero. Does his waist swivel or is it stuck in place. I can not get mine to swivel for the life of me and have tried leaving him in the freezer n everything. Right now he is stuck in this godawful sideways pose which I can not free him from. Any help please would be appreciated

It should swivel. I have one torso I took all the armor and bent and stuff off of, and it swivels fine. My completed Despero does not swivel though. Might be stuck, or it might be that the belt hinders the movement.

With the one Despero that I was able to find enough parts to assemble, the torso had stuck to the belt because the paint from the belt had dried there. It was assembled a little crooked as well, with the belt not lined up as flush as it should have been. Either one of those things probably kept it from swiveling as it should. I think I took a flathead screwdriver and wedged it in between the bottom of the torso and the top of the belt and the torso popped loose from the belt witout anything breaking. But I would definitely recommend being really careful with any method you might choose to loosen the stuck joint, as breakage is so easy.

The SDCC Manbat I have has a torso hinge that is so stuck, it's like it isn't supposed to function. I think it's "paintlock" there, as well.

Well I just operated on my Despero since its waist was also stuck. I tried to do the thing with a small screwdriver that harry was talking about...but I didn't get rid of the paint stuckage entirely...so i took off the legs, ran a screwdriver through the holes and tried to twist one way with the screwdriver while holding the hand. I ended up seperating the lower torso part in half where it's glued together anyway, but no big deal. I ended up peeling the belt part back since it's a big piece of plastic, and taking off the lower torso entirely, which did the trick and freed the waist. Pics below!

You can see where the gold paint from the belt got stuck to the upper torso. In any case, I glued the torso pieces back together and now he can swivel!
