Arkham Asylum: BATMAN Game

well....i just beat the game. overall....this was the best superhero game to date! i hope part 2 picks up where this one leaves off.

Has anyone else had a problem with your Xbox freezing up while playing Arkham Asylum? My whole system froze.

 

Is it happening in the same spot, and if so where? There is one point where it 'freezes' on purpose. I don't want to get into specifics that may give something away to someone who's not there yet.

Beat it today and I concur with the above statement. So much opprortunity to make a game franchise out of this.

 

It's so good I'm playing it again from scratch.

this simply sets the standard for how superhero games should be like.

 

#1 you dont have to follow the movie story/design/actors for the game

 

#2 you dont have to rush the game and release it on the same time with the movie (if the game is good it will sell no matter the delay)

 

#3 follow the comic follow the comic follow the comic

 

I am almost done with the game and i cant wait to restart it all over again, its a dream come true for me. Imagine a green lantern game this deep

Assuming you mean you're back in the intensive treatment building where you first escort the Joker in before at the begining of the game there is a part where it freezes on purpose. It's a side effect of Scarecrow's fear gas. Just let it go. This part is really freaky!

This game was awesome!!!....

I couldn't stop playing it until I finished it...Bought it on a Friday night and was finished by around 3 pm Sunday...Still only at 81% as I now have to back track to solve all the Riddler Challenges...

The designs are also fricken great...Batman looks so bad-ass....His face looks so much like Alex Ross' rendition...Love the gauntlets...Makes sense...

Why didn't we get some figures based on these designs by either DCD or (shudder) Mattel????....These would look so awesome as figures....

OMG! This was the best game I've played in a long time. You feel like you're Batman when you're playing. I need another Batman game right now. Can't wait for another.

I'm curious to know what exactly makes the game so good in your all's opinions? I played the Demo on 360 and though the graphics were certainly nice the game play didn't seem anything special. Your typical walk around and beat people up and wonder around till you find the right path ect ect. I was pretty bored after playing a few minutes, did I miss something or were improvements made since the demo release or is it just the graphics and its Batman what you guys like about it?

Off the top of my head:

 

1) Previous Batman games have been plauged by bad cameras and lousy controls this game does not suffer from that.

2) More adult themed story more appropriate to comics than animated series (people die) as well as the prevailing themes, and characterizations for example Batman is not portrayed as a nice guy, he won't kill you but he has no problem with breaking your legs.

3) Fluid combat easy to learn, hard to master. It's not a button mashing game, you need to think about what your next move will be. Instead of being frustrated with combat I find I practice to get better at it.

4) Silent predator IMO the best part of the game Batman is just a man, and cannot survive a hail of gunfire. Picking off armed henchman without being seen is both satisfying and challenging.

5) The voice acting is a big plus having Joker taunt you throughout the game over loudspeakers really adds to the feel.

6) this game is freaky! Really nice bonus to play a video game and get nervous about what's going to happen.

 

It' not perfect but holy heck it's good. I guess it helps if you are a fan of the Batman franchise as I am.

thats the words i have been looking for. i hope for a superman game in that direction. i think that games should not be that huge like spiderman and an entire city. it takes away a lot of credit and it gets boring very soon. oh and by the way my playstation3 got the red screen of death. this is my second play3 and it is dead again. i send it back and i hope to get it fixed very soon. funny but both times, i downloaded the new sony downloads and funny fact after a week, they did not work anymore. not realy happy about it. so now we will see if my trophys are gone or not if i get it back. does someone else had this kind of problem? i saw a lot of guys having this on youtube. when you turn on your ps3, your screen turns red and says that a big problemo had come up and nothing works anymore. i miss the good old days when all this downloads and #$## didnt exists.

Wow JayC, a demo could not do this game justice you'll have to play the full version of this game to enjoy it's splendor. FlyingFigg pretty much said it in a nut shell. This is the best Batman game hands down. I know Batman has been around for along time and he's one of those characters everyone has their own opinion of how he should be because there's been so many versions of him over the years. This version of him has that adult gritty comic book feel I've come to love over the years and the well known animated voice actors was icing on the cake.

I've completed about 45% of the game so far and I've loved every minute of it. I've even got my GF playing.
