The Legion Of Super-Heroes

I've ordered my JLU Legion set from MattyCollector. It came very quickly. Overall, I'm very happy with this set and I'd definitely support another Legion set. I am, however, a little skeptical that we'll see one. Mattel seems to consider items a success only if they sell out briskly and as of this posting, the Legion set is still available from their site ...as is the first JLU set, the Gotham criminals set.

Here are some thoughts about these figures:

-All four figures are nice. Of course they're standard JLU bodies with new heads. I know some people complain about a lack of articulation or the re-use of a standard body. If such things bother you, then this line was never for you. JLU is like minimates. Either you like them or you don't. You don't look at a minimate and complain about the sculpt.

- All four figures have very nice distinct heads. I wish though that they had happier more pleasant expressions. Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad, and Brainiac 5 all look unhappy. Cos looks outright angry. Saturn Girl unfortunately lacks any life to her expression.

- Saturn Girl's costume isn't exactly true to what her character was seen wearing in her brief cameo on JLU but its a nice version of the classic Saturn Girl costume.

- I wish Lightning Lad's lightning bolts were yellow instead off gold. The gold is dark and doesn't contrast enough against the blue costume.

- As usual with the female characters in this line, Saturn Girl has no hope of standing on her own. Fortunately, a base is included with her. Mattel has obviously given up on ever correcting this design flaw.

- Brainiac 5's forcefield belt is painted on. I would've preferred a molded belt but as is to be expected with exclusives like this, Mattel ain't splurging on details!

I ordered them :)

I wont open them, they will get tacked to my wall. I dont really collect the JLU figures, but figured that buying the Legion set will hopefully show Mattel that Legion fans exist & will quickly add them to the DCUC line.

Long Live the Legion!!

I ordered the set and mine came last week. I didn't open them or the platic wrap around the box but I did make look at either open end to see if it was all the correct figures. The set looks nice and I can't wait for the Shazam set. JLU figures seem to be going up on the collectibility market and Matty exclusives only help.

I ordered 2 sets! Hopefully mine will arrive tomorrow. Can't wait!

I have a friend who is a big Legion fan. I offered to order him a set (combining the shipping), but he declined. His comment was that he didn't consider the JLU Legion to be part of the Legion canon. I replied, "You know, there are so few Legion toys out there..." but he didn't budge. I may have to buy him a set as a Christmas present, since I KNOW he won't order them for himself.
