Not as happy as I used to be with DC Infinite heroes

I was big on Dc Infinite heroes when they first showed up, even though the figures were not the starting line. But recently with the expansion of the line and I am just not into it as before. I got to the stores now and instead of seeing new figures I still see wave one. I read all the mags and posts and see all these new figs coming out yet wave one figus are still on the racks. I don't get it it is not even like the racks are depleted they are full stocked. Was there a surplus in the warehouses and they need to push them out? Where is the gotham city box set? Why do I not see the 3 pack variants with flash and bizzaro? I am not that bent out of shape with not getting the anti monitor even though there should have been more advanced warning as to how to get him rather than a week before NYCC which I attended. I look at how marvel is treating their line and I just wish there was a centralized location where I could get consistent info from the company on what is going on with this line. I feel like they gave up on it.

Mattel's philosophy seems to be "We're going to throw whatever piece of crap against the wall and if the fans come buy to clean it up, we'll throw more. Otherwise, we've done all we can and it's their fault we're not throwing more crap."

Seeing as how Hasbro is able to get Star Wars, Marvel Universe, and GI Joe regularly on the pegs, it amazes me to watch Mattel repeatedly blunder JLU, DCUC, and now Infinite Heroes. IH in fact may be the worst of it since this line, which was unveiled last year to HUGE anticipation, utterly squandered that good will and enthusiasm with one bad decision after another.

My observation of this line went like this:

1. Pics of the prototypes were unveiled at San Diego and Toy Fair. The sculpts were acceptable. The diversity and number of characters were great. We had troop builders like Gotham Police and the Thanagarians! I was a little disappointed in the emphasis on modern characters over classic ones. Brandon Choi...? Ugh! Still, I had high hopes.

2. Pics of the prototypes were released to websites. These were the more detailed early sculpts with the balled fists. Excitement is running high. They look good. Some complain about the limited articulation but overall, there's a good amount of anticipation.

3. Pics of the actual figures are released. What happened?! We see the huge needlessly open monkey hands and cheap under-whelming sculpts. My spider sense goes off, but I foolishly reserve my final judgement until I see the actual figures.

4. Wave 1 is released with the gutsy, but unexciting selection of Guy Gardner, Shazam, Adam Strange, And Reverse Flash. They look as cheap as I'd feared. Shazam is out right unacceptable. Out of the four only Reverse Flash is remotely tolerable. Worst of all, these single cards go for a ridiculous 4.99 at Target and a criminal 6.99 at TRU!

5. The 3-packs are released at Target. In drug dealer fashion, they're released at 9.99, but are soon after MARKED UP to 15.99!! (We'll get them hooked at 9.99 and then they'll be back at 15.99!) Oddly enough, TRU sells the 3 packs at 12.99

6. The first four of Wave 1 continues to rot on every peg. The few collectors of this line are frustrated by the inability to find later releases such as Black Adam and Atom. Later waves are more elusive than Big Foot!

7. Exclusive multi-packs are released thru TRU. The Oa set is a ridiculous 34.99 and the Metropolis set is an utterly offensive 49.99!!!! Both sets rot where they're shelved.

My guess is that in the inner offices at Mattel Headquarters, Mr. Mattel already sees the writing on the death certificate for this line. They'll probably eek out one more year and then quietly cancel the line claiming, "Well, the fans just didn't support this line."

Hasbro is just as crappy as Mattel, look at what they did to the Marvel Legends line.

I haven't dumped mine off, but I've pretty much given up on the line after being a big supporter of it when it started. Its just not worth it to have to try to chase these down when they should be 1) cheaper 2) easier to find and 3) when there's so many other lines to deal with. I decided to limit my 'frustrating to find DC line' to the DCUC. :)

This is very odd to me....MOST of the time I totally agree.....and I have STOPPED collecting DCU period...because of them being so hard to find and just broken badly painted JUNK in the last 2 waves....but I have had NO problem at all finding Infinite Heroes....there are 3 wal marts near me and all of them have stocked the newest IH figs....I have every figure that has ben scheduled for release...Bizarro, Garrick Flash (single carded)..wonder woman ...alexander luthor etc.....the only one i have not found is sinestro????

I've seen Sinestro (which I passed on since I'd given up the line), but none of the others you mentioned. And I am hesitant to buy singles at Wal-Mart's price anyway...I bought a couple there and to be honest I kinda regretted it later. Unfortunately my local Targets have never gotten anything past the Power Girl / Star Sapphire time frame.

i'd be on this line if the figures didn't have big ass goofy hands and they improved articulation.

My Wal*Mart today had 3 or 4 each of the Bizarro & Jay Garrick 3-packs today. I've still never seen the Gotham Kights 3-Pack or TRU Gotham Patrol locally. Luckily I got the Gotham Knights 3-pack from Impulse Creations last month and the Gotham Patrol from TRU.com back in Dec.
